FINALLY I can give my feedback on TESO

Post » Sun Feb 16, 2014 10:16 am

TESO will do quite well in my mind but there are a few problems that I feel could develop into gamebreakers.......

1) Guilds are VERY restrictive right now if you dont have at least 10 members u cannot use the guild bank for example....this rules out the players who like to have their own alt guild putting restrictions like this on guilds severely inhibits alt play

2) Character Bank this is a HUGE one, right now you only have ONE bank shared across all toons and it is limited to like 100 slots, this again greatly discourages alt playing which is a HUGE part of any MMORPG crafting materials alone are over 100 items, in the beta I was constantly having to delete or sell crafting materials and other stuff I had no desire to get rid of because my bags were full. then I created a new character and started gathering and when I went to store my stuff in the bank I found out it was ONE bank for the entire account....this is a HUGE NONO, there is nothing wrong with a nice big SHARED BANK per account but we ALSO need a nice big bank per toon, otherwise like I said ur hurting the longevity of the game

3)challenge quests and puzzle quests, these are amazing fun but to be honest there isnt anywheres near enough of them from what I have experienced so far I think it was a total of 3 in the entire 1 - 17 area I was also amazed at the amount of ppl that couldnt figure them out even though the answer was literally right in front of their faces, do more of these they are fun

4) fame/infamy man this is a HUGE hit in the game, its nice that we have our own boxes and crates to search through all over the world but one of the BIG things about TES worlds is the interaction between the player and the guards if the player decided to take an evil route as in stealing from the towns people or killing npc's etc I hope this gets changed soon, right now there is no penalties at all for bad behaviour, MY character is a mage assassin she plays the hero and helps the people who are in trouble out and never asks for reward from any of them BUT she does like the fun of stealing from them once in a while and the risk that goes with it

5)the PVP of cyrodiil is great fun as I have said before, there is nothing wrong with it as long as it remains a side dish in the world of TESO, but the moment you focus on the RVR PVP as the MAIN DISH at endgame, that is where the problem WILL arise....there are around 10 million Elder Scrolls fans world wide looking at this game and there are about 250k DAOC,Warhammer,GW2 fans looking at this game, it only makes sense to cater to the majority rather than the minority I am pretty sure you realize this but if you dont realize it yet lets hope you do soon.

other than that quite honestly the game is amazing in my mind, I AM very thankful you allowed me to be part of all your beta tests, and I look forward to either the next Beta Test Weekend or maybe an Ongoing Beta test if you decide to start one up, if not then I will hopefully see you all when the game goes live.

P.S number 1 and number 2 are the only ones I feel are gamebreaking because the current system REALLY hurts ppl who love to craft and play alts

BTW to those of you who love crafting I hope you read this post and help keep it alive in the hopes it will get noticed, please refrain from flaming and trolling in this post as I would really like to see it brought to the attention of the people that really matter.

right now my biggest concern is game balance. i knew it would not be balanced at launch but right now its looking worse than expected. as for the concerns you brought up

1. i hate the guild system. its stupid imo

2. only 100 slots? no way to upgrade that? do we know how much we can stack resources? 100 seems small to me

5. the pvp looks awesome but right now it seems to be all people want to do. we will see come launch but i fear this game will go down the road of daoc and eventually forget about pve.

also in addition i personally hate the fact the game does not have an AH but it seems i am in the minority on this forum with that

I thought you had played.

Each item can stack to 100. Not seen a way to expand that, but the inventory of the number of items can be increased. I think you start with 40 or 50 then can buy increments of 10 new spaces each able to stack up to 100 of whatever item. But that is mostly for plants, potions, crafting material. Weapons and armor and glyphs don't stack. I think inventory is pretty bad with being able to carry 100 pieces of chopped wood and it takes up the same amount of space as a single worm or centipede.

The PvP is certainly novel. It can be fun, but it is literally a giant back and forth of playing capture the flag. Literally capturing and losing a fort over and over again. Got boring for me.

As for loot in containers. Goat meat everywhere - never saw one goat.

it will have an AH eventually I am sure if not I dont mind selling my wares old eq1 style but yeah the banking system right now is a huge issue for me and I am sure it will be for others as well, and btw things dont stack to well, I just had cooking materials and I had over 100

you start with a 40 slot bank or 50 slot bank and then you can purchase an additional row each time up to 100 total bank slots its nowheres near enough

I certainly did.

But as you may know even on the official beta forums the zeni team closed threads about suggestions and bugs and pointed everyone to use the in-game feedback. The problem with that (as a player and user of the product) is that you don't get to hear other people's suggestions and or realize something is a bug versus feature when you don't see their feedback.

I posted about that and gave feedback as well.

You can add slots or rows dont remember but I do agree the price on that needs to be reduced and I dont think we would have an issue.

you can only get to 100 though and its a account bank there is no character bank. we need a bank for every character on the account or else playing alts is gonna be severely restricted I mean think about it 8 toons with 0 room for anything?

Absolute agreement.

I'm a very serious crafter and the inventory issues are huge. This presumes increasing bank and backpack size multiple times not just on the main crafter character, but multiple alts for more storage. It's a big problem.

We can't even send mail to our alts on the same account -- the mail system prohibits it. You are required to use the miniscule shared bank to transfer items around.

You can't create your own guild to have a guild bank for more storage space because the guild bank requires 10 players or you lose access. Say goodbye to that small, intimate guild of crafters.

Every beta weekend I pray for a patch note that says (ok, they won't mention GW2 by name

  • "We have out right copied the brilliant Guild Wars 2 crafting material storage system that keeps all crafting materials in their own bank. Each slot is devoted to a different crafting material and can stack to 9,999 item count."

This would solve the massive inventory problem for crafters without having any impact whatsoever on the inventory system used by everybody else. It's pure win all over the place.

Not really. Your right that maximum stack in guild bank is 100, but somehow items dont stack AT ALL.

it looks that separete players deposit do not stack right now - in big guild with free bank access tthis means bank turned into trash bin extremally fast - with MANY stack of 1 racial style items, few provisoning items and such

Of course your guild quartermaster can withraw all 50 single stack of "goat jerky" and put it again as one stack ;D

Im also not really sure if you can wiithdraw a separate amount of item from bigger stack in guild bank - it seems that you always getting whole stack.

which again brings up my question how is it that the players who are playing 7 days a week 24/7 have not made any comments on the HUGE negative impact the current bank system has on the game

The bank is way too small. If you're serious about crafting you can fill that thing in a heart beat with your very first character.

I've been sending /feedback directly to the devs on this issue for several betas. I put it into my post-beta survey as the most important issue to be resolved in the game. I post about it in every thread that even resembles a discussion about the brutally limited inventory system.

Hopefully the devs take notice and just add in the spectacularly clever GW2 crafting mat bank system, solving the problem out right.

Believe me. I've ranting to Zenimax about this in feedback the whole time I was in beta. It is one of the biggest issues I have with the game. It's only compounded by the crafting system. The bank system in this game was not thought out very well at all.
