Sorc build

Post » Mon Feb 17, 2014 10:27 am

Okay guys so I've been thinking about what I will be rolling for launch of ESO, and watching all the videos and reading everything I can.

While not being able to play any betas, due to not having a computer atm. I will be building one within the next 2weeks.

But anyways, the class I wanna play will probably be sorc. Just because I usually roll a heavy melee dmg based class in any other mmo.

I just wanna get some feedback from maybe anybody who has tried this setup in the previous betas, not knowing how far it let you guys level to.

But my build may look something like this,

Sorc with Dark Magic, Main hand Destruction staff. Secondary 2H sword, with Medium or Heavy armour.

Now from what I have read each weapon has i'ts own type of weapon skills, I'f I rolled sorc with Dark Magic. Main hand being Destruction staff. Will i have to compensate for both Dark Magic and Destruction staff skills?

I beleive you can only have 6 skills available to you on your hotbar, So if destruction had 4 skills I loved and Dark Magic had 3 I wouldn't be able to do that right?

I love the idea of Dark Magic, but reading there skills they dont seem to dish out much DPS, while Storm Calling seems to dish out the most DPS, Just dont have much CC. Which is why I Choose Dark Magic and hoping the 2H sword and heavier armour type can fulfill me in my DPS issue.

So has anybody tried sorc with Dark Magic, main hand Destruction staff, Secondary 2h Sword. With heavier armor type?

Maybe you guys can help me out here

Do it.

I see more people who know exaclty what they want to make, but ask for help. Guess its more of a question wether you can succesfuly make one work?

The answer is yes.

Characters get some health, stamina, and magicka every level so you will be able to use some abilities no matter what. Playing with heavier armor types may just mean relying more upon mixing in stamina-based attacks than purely spamming magick attacks.

Even though i'm rolling sorc, I wanna be melee DPS dependent. It would probably be wise just to roll Temp. I just dont like there CC ability. So I will probably try Dark Magic mainly for CC and the 2h Skills for DPS just not sure how good theyre yet. Hopefully I get a computer build by next beta if I can get in.

But I'm really trying to figure out, Dark Magic and Destruction staff both have there own skill sets right? So I would be forced to choose 6 skills, from either my main sorc skills. Or from

Destruction staff skills?

That part has me alittle confused still

Yeah, destruction has a few active skills. The base, default attack is ranged and the element is dependent on the type. e.g., a fire staff will shoot out firebolts. AFAIK, these cost no mana and work much like a power attack or drawing an arrow (1 fire bolt if just tapped, 3 swirling firebolts if attack held down like a power attack).

You don't need to use the destruction active skills if you don't want to. You still have access to the ranged attack.

You can have 5 skills and 1 ultimate.

Generally the weapon skills cost stamina, except for he staves, and class skills cost magicka.

You can mix and match your (drawn) weapon skills with all the other skill lines available to you.

For example, charge and cleave from 2H with shard and encase from dark magic and the pet from summoning.

Does that answer your question?
