Would these throwing weapons be stacked, for example, if you have 5 throwing knifes you can only throw 5, or will they be like the current bows and arrows, where you need to arrows (throwing knifes) to use the bow?

More options is good, not sure how these weapons would work efficiently though, stacking them up? I personally would just stick to a bow.

Edit - they could be implemented in various skill lines though, assassins guild or something similar.

I guess if they worked in a way where you only needed 1 of the item to use an unlimited number it could work. The throwing knifes could have less damage but be thrown faster than shooting with a bow.

Or they could be craftable items where if you have 5 throwing knifes you could only throw 5, but they would have 2, maybe 3 times the damage of a full charged arrow shot?

But if you did the second option, you'd likely need something similar for mages, melee.

Throwing type weapons are ok inmo, throwing stars acceptable. though,I would just hate to see any sort of Japanese-esque skill lines like what was done in UO, like age of the samurai...

Throwing stars is a bit lame... First of all they where just meant to be used as detraction when fleeing from some one or to slow them down by hitting them in the leg. It's close to impossible to kill some one in the real world with them making them a really bad as a weapon. There are allot of other weapons that are better suited for that.

Throwing weapons in general are more "thief weapons", not something a warrior would pickup as they are allowed to carry weapons and don't need to hide them.

thank you for sharing. obviously this style of assassin and dark brotherhood and stealth and thief class is not for you.

but for me and others we do enjoy this and allways have since morrowind.

Would like throwing knives. Would like them to have their own skill line just like any other weapon type.

You're welcome.

I'm having trouble understanding your next statement. Are you saying the stealth thief/assassin playstyle is not for me, or the throwing weapon style specifically?

There was an interview with a Dev. that explained that throwing weapons are already in the game in a sense.

Here is a List of Throwing weapons that are skills.

Fighters Guild: Silver Bolts- 1 shot crossbow

Dual Wield: Hidden Blade- Throwing Dagger

Templar: Piercing Javelin- Javelin

Templar: Spear Shards- Large throwing Spear

Fighters Guild: Trap Beast- Lay a trap (Throwable with Morph: Lightweight Beast)

Alliance War: Caltrops- Caltops (Those throwable ouchy spikes that Ninjas like to use while escaping).

Tarvok Spellbinder, on 17 Feb 2014 - 01:35 AM, said:

Also, add the Dragonknight's... rock throwing ability (can't remember the name). - Stonefist

There you go.... I think you should be:

A Templar that Dual Wields: Then select any skills from above and have a rather large arsenal of Throwing weapons. Enjoy!!

I personaly fell in love with the Silver Bolts skill. I feel like Van Helsing while hunting down the Supernatural. And boy when that 5% banish activates.... there is nothing but dust left ^_-

You can't restrict them to "archers or stealth type assassins". Any player can use any weapon, remember?

I'd be happy to have em as weapons, but they're gonna have to get in line along with spears/polearms, crossbows, unarmed, and whatever else people want to be added in a patch.

Adding a new weapon type involves a new skill line and new animations, not to mention balancing against all the others, so it's not trivial.

And yeah, I'm aware that they're in as part of skills, but I think that's a cheesy way to do weapons :/ IMO our chars shouldn't be able to use any weapon they can't buy, find or craft, and that doesn't have stats.
