For all the lore experts out there...

I find I am in need of an answer from you, as my Elder Scrolls Wiki-fu has failed me.

Is there any creature/daedra in Elder Scrolls lore that's the same as, or at least similar to, a jinni?

You mean as in Barbara Eden or a crusty old undead necromancer of the sands?

Daedric gods and even princes often grant wishes... But it costs you.

Do you mean the kind of Jinn/genie as in dumbed down misinterpretations of 1001 Arabian nights that grants wishes? Any Daedric prince could do that - and many do with the devils bargain.

Or, do you mean the real deal which is what the ancient Greeks called a daemon. The root word for genius. What in the western schools is called the holy guardian angel? If so then no - as it seems the dogma and cosmology of TES does not divide the soul up into greater and lesser parts that talk to each other. Even with sky shards it is not that the shards have animus or anima.

Clavicus Vile is who comes to my mind. IIRC he's (among other categories) the prince of wishes and bargains. Though he likes to go back on his word, or grant your wish with a twist that turns out very badly for the wisher.

As for a generic Genie, not that I know of.

That's exactly what I mean, yep. And that's pretty much what I thought. The guild's leaning very heavily towards DC, so I was trying to figure out if the Redguards had a similar creature in the Alik'r Desert to help give us a wee bit of a backstory, but it seems I'll have to think of something else to give the guild more flavour (so to speak).

Thanks for your help, all.

For what it's worth, the Redguards have an absurdly massive pantheon (they even have a god of "We Have Too Many Gods"), so I'm sure there's room for something akin to jinn in there.

Well, if you're looking for demons bound to items, daedric weapons/armor are ebony weapons/armor with a draedroth bound to it. All item that are enchanted are also bound with souls of slain beings, whether moral or note.

As for genies in a lamp of sorts, nothing lore-wise.
