Far distance view and dimensions of Tamriel

Just being interested what do people think about the possibility of using the maximum distance view in TES games. I personally like it, but many people say that it makes the world view kind of absurd: for example in Oblivion seeing Frostcrag from the Imperial City gates is like seeing the North Pole from London: it's a completely different climatic zone. So what are the real dimensions of Tamriel supposed to be, can we really cross a whole province on foot in a day, or is it an "as if" situation, while "in reality" it's supposed to take longer?

Tamriel's real size is about the size of western Europe I think. I would love to see that in a TES game(procedurally generated).

Daggerfall's landmass was actually the size of Britain. Unfortunately the tech at that time was not good enough to create a very enjoyable world. However today's tech can create some http://youtu.be/qUoNfL6bbjE, and combine that with handcrafted content you have a game of your dreams :D
