My leveled actors keep disappearing!

Post » Tue Feb 18, 2014 1:45 pm

I'm having some odd issues with the Creation Kit. Certain actors are (seemingly at random) not showing up in the "Object" drop-down menu when I try to create a Leveled Character, and when I try to drag-and-drop those actors directly into the list, the second I adjust their level or close the Leveled Character and go back to it later, they disappear and are replaced with the actor "AADeleteWhenDoneTestJeremyBig" (I assume because it's the first one on the list).

It's really bizarre, and I've included a screenshot so you can see what I mean: the highlighted actor should be a skeleton I made (weirdly enough, I duplicated it from a different skeleton I made, and that one shows up just fine): http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m43/danburite/Untitled-1.png

Has this ever happened to anybody else? And if so, how do I fix it?

It's a Creation Kit bug. The leveled list is permanently corrupted when trying to edit it in the CK, but you can add the NPCs through TES5Edit to circumvent the problem.

Damn. Could I just create a new list and delete the current one, though? Would that fix it?

Okay, so I tried making a new list from scratch, and the actors still aren't showing up. I've never used TES5Edit... how easy it it to edit the list with it?

TES5Edit categorizes all forms, including Leveled NPC lists. Below is an image of a vanilla Leveled NPC list. The properties to edit would be LLCT - Count (total number of NPCs in list) and the Leveled List Entries. For the Reference, you'll need to copy the actor's information to match the style as seen in the image:

Thanks. It's actually better than the CK in many ways (except visually of course).

Is it safe to go back and forth between TES5Edit and the Creation Kit? The last thing I need is for the whole mod to become corrupted.
