two handed weapons good for nightblades?

Post » Wed Feb 19, 2014 1:17 am

So, I noticed on a number of nightblade abilities, particularly the ones that allow extra damage out of stealth or high crit chances. wouldn't a two handed weapon (with higher base damage) work better in those cases over duel wielding weapons? Most duel wielding weapon abilities seem to involve lots of fast small hits, however nightblade abilities (particularly assasination and some shadow skills) give a boost to the next attack done, so if that next attack were to do a lot of base damage (two handed weapons) wouldn't that be preferable over ones with smaller base damage.

It sounds wierd simply because rogues typically always use daggers but in this case I think it might be viable. any thoughts?

i will be trying nightblade with 2handed weapon. a mace to be more specific. for following reasons
armor penetration
extra jump skill similar to teleport (cost in stamina)
extra stun. (cost in stamina)

Im sure it is quite viable and making a two hander nightblade build could be interesting.

I was thinking of an Imperial nightblade but it's not very good with current impearial bonuses.

My god, I hate when people go " oh , I want to play a bosmer fighter but I should play a nord for like 1% bonus to X". Seriously, its an ES game, has every bosmer been a rogue? has every altmer been a sorcerer? play the race you want to play, don't let small things make you want to change your race to something that "makes more sense" for your playstyle.

dont let that change your playstyle though, but that seems a little extreme now that I think about it, with a 15% bonus...

i can accept cold resist of the Nords as a good racial for a nightblade since cc staff = frost. but the armor rank is not of a huge importance to a gank class imo.

also it is a 15% of crit damage. it's not just +15% weapon damage. in best case scenario it is a 7.5% base damage increase with 100% crit chance.

and kitty has better sneak. simple as that.
