Is there a good weapon for my sneaky khajiit?

Post » Wed Feb 19, 2014 2:13 pm

I play as a sneaky archer/close combat khajiit. I've never used a weapon that weren't my claws or a bow,and I'm wondering if there is a good dagger or one handed weapon that I should switch to?

Edit:Khajiit claws do 15 points of damage.

Iron daggers look good and they can be improved to deal more damage than your fists.

The dragon bone dagger is really neat.

Or what about Mehrunes dagon's razor? (Unless you're not into daedric stuff)

Glass dagger's are cool imo.

If you like dwarven items there is Keening, but it's enchantment is a little strange and you have to join the College of Winterhold

Valdr's lucky dagger is a unique steel dagger with increased critical hit chance. You get it by doing a quest for someone in western Falkreath.

my skyforge dagger does over 30 base damage, combine that with sneaking perks... very deadly :D

But for a cool looking dagger I say ebony.

Not sure if this is vanilla but I use a glass dagger for my sneaky khajit. I used to use an iron dagger.

Just enchant it and it will produce a cool enough effect. I'm sure there are some cool quest reward daggers.

Bow for distance/stealth...

Now when they get too close and ya fall back to melee, bash them in the face with the bow and back up (kite)

But swords work good as back up, don't dual weild so you can have a shield/healing spell in the off hand. Axes are a good middle ground on one-handed melee weapons.

Daggers are for sneak attacks up close, then switch to real blades as they fall behind quick when there is no sneak bonus

The Blade of Woe is useful in sneaky situations, assuming you have obtained it.

Actually, Khajiit claws do 22 damage -- 10 base damage and 12 from the Khajiit claws ability (the description is incorrect). So technically, anything that does more damage than that is "better."

You might like the dagger you can find at Hag's End, which absorbs health and casts soul trap; depending on your faction affiliation, you might end up going there anyway.

That is, if you want absorb health. There are also plenty of generic magic items with damaging enchantments, or you could make something yourself.

Mehrune's Dagon Razor would be a good fit. Like Personalblaze said, the dragon priest daggers look good but cant be upgraded.

Silver sword. Can't be smithed, but can be enchanted & the silver adds an additional +20 damage against undead.

For stealth your best bet is a dagger. They are silent.

Yeah, though also consider when stealth stops being an option then you want a war axe/ sword instead. The sword is faster, the war axe is a lil more damage (and if perked does better than the bladesman perks)

Mehrunes Razor is phenomenal. I suggest you take a trip to Dawnstar. ;)

Ooh! my fave enchantment combo! I'd go for this until you get the dual enchantment perk and can make your own with higher values. It's a pity that tempering the blade doesn't upgrade the enchantments.

My Khajiit uses dual-wielded elven war axes, self-enchanted. Flesh-Burner does 26 fire damage, and Blood-Drinker does 13 absorb health.

Consider that their base damage is about 74, with Smithing. Add the Dark brotherhood gauntlets (x12 Sneak attack damage), and you've got 888 hp of damage with a Sneak attack, plus 26 burning damage is a total of 914. Enough to ruin nearly any adversary's day!
