Do your own bloody delivery!

Post » Wed Feb 19, 2014 2:42 pm

Seriously. Why does every single NPC I bump into expect ME, the Dovahkiin, the slayer of Alduin, the Harbinger of the Companions, the Arch-Mage etc, to do their petty deliveries? Farengar, take those frost salts and stick them where the sun don't shine!

Because MOST quest based games are centered around retrieve/fetch/deliver. Not just Skyrim.

Still cumbersome, unless I'm heading in that specific direction.

Only one of my characters has been Dovakiin so far. I prefer to play fairly ordinary characters in these games. So it makes a lot of roleplaying sense, in my games, for my character to have to earn people's trust.

Also, I roleplay. I take only those quests that are appropriate for a particular character. If, for whatever reason, a particular character doesn't feel comfortable delivering Frost Salts for Farengar, she doesn't do it.

All my characters are dragonborn, they all do pretty much the same quests etc. I could care less for roleplaying. I just play the game

Because Skyrim's a dangerous place, and they only trust you to make it across to whatever city they want you to go to alive.

It's a compliment, seriously. Think of the number of quests that involve having to go and pick up the dropped/robbed/lost deliveries of lesser mortals.

Just spare a thought for the couriers. I've had one find me in the middle of a battle with what felt like twenty draugr in some random tomb. And I want to know how he got out alive, being unarmed, and unarmored.

I hardly do quests anymore. I mainly go around causing mischief with my god items, decapitating people I don't like or just spawn a random number of draugr/dremoras/karstaags other other enemy someplace. :)

Sadly it is just the way of games, Skyrim is still stuck with the same issues a lot of RPG's have with quest=postal service.

What scares me is when a courier approaches me in his undies, wanting to give me a letter and some gold because I've inherited. Being in just his undies, there's but one place he could have stored that money and the letter.... :twirl:

I hate the fetch/deliver system and hope for something better in quests next time as I'm not an errand boy.

I look at the side quests as what they are, friendship and status builders. Pick a hold, become thane, marry, make a home. The Honeyside days. :D

I've done so many side quests in my days of playing Skyrim that I now simply just force them to like me. :P

Now everybody loves me from scratch. :teehee:
