Sending gold to alts?

Probably how it'll work, but it's an unnecessary pain in the tuckus.

I can't see ZOS preventing you doing it come retail, its pretty standard these days and what it boils down to is the longer you keep re-rolling and playing/enjoying the game the more subs you pay ZOS. The last thing they want is you to play one character right through and not start a second one because you can't give them free stuff from your first.

*sigh* gone are the days of finding a secluded spot, running characters 1 and 2 to the same spot then dropping your prized loot on the floor, logging off as quickly as possible followed by logging back in and picking it up. The sheer panic, sweat dripping from your forehead knowing anyone could just walk past and pick up your goodies! Alas these days are long behind us!

Gah another terrible design decision. I was hoping it was a bug.

Ok teach me to read the entire tread, I was sure you could send mail to alt, note that unlike WOW and most other MMO all characters on an account can share soul-bound items. You can store and reuse good gear.
I think this is because account is more important than character in ESO, I just hope this don't generate bugs, like having quest progress or other stuff carry over.
Anyway, either use and good friend as middleman, or use the guild shop, have alt sell an junk item for 10.000 gold, your main buy it. This probably takes an 10% or something transaction fee.
Smarter, put expensive loot in bank let alt sell it instead of main.

In Runescape you could do that. fun storry "drop expensive item on ground and press Alt+F4 to dupe" was an idiot scam.

Remember some idiot tried it on me, I played total idiot, first was afraid he was an moderator, then talked about an very expensive item I wanted to dupe, then could not find F4, last I dropped an cabbage and switched server

And yes this is probably an bug related to how important your account is relative to character, Bank, friends, guild is shared.

Friends is ok, guilds, yes my Dumer alt has so much interest in an pure Khaiit guild. Bank has been discussed a lot on other treads.

EQ2 lets you trade gear that's no trade to alts through shared bank as well but once one equips it, you can't use it again unless you buy an item to unattune it.

Ok in ESO its no issue, I banked some gear I wanted to keep and my lower level alt could equip it, I had used it myself.

Runes of magic and F2P MMO had an item who reset soul- binding, obviously it was in the cash shop :)

Banks are account wide right? why not make it so you can actually deposit money in your bank and not just items. I never understood why some games have banks but you can't put money in them.

this seems like a pointless inconvenience to me. can you mail any item at all to your alts? as for gold if i want to give gold to my alt i will send to my wife who can then send to me.

i didnt try to mail anything to myself, can you actually mail items to yourself?
