as the title says, please show current server population when we create our first character

personally i want to play for the side that has the least population, and i think others do to

so i think if the population is show it would even out the populations somewhat, off course if you threw in a 5% xp bonus for joining the least populated faction i wouldnt bark at that

reason i say this is that in SWTOR for instance, my guild miss read the trend and started on the most populated side initially, then 2 weeks later(after getting to max level etc..) we switched to the less populated side to get more pvp action, so we basically lost 2 weeks, it would be nice to be able to chose the underdog from the get go without guessing

It would be great to see faction population when we create our characters, I agree. I don't agree with the XP bonus though, although I can see why some people might need an incentive to play on the least populous side.

just an xp bonus for as long as their faction remains the smallest, and only when there's like a 500+ char. difference so that there isn't always that one faction that gets the bonus

I see your point and like you i always join the UP faction, but this is a move that could backfire.

A lot of players, unlike us, would join the OP faction instead.

Judging from the polls so far, the difference between player choice of each alliance is 1% - 3%. So, everything is pretty much balanced as it is.

Also, I noticed in the beta that PvP was broken into different campaigns (instances), and it was possible to see about how many players of each alliance were in each campaign, with each campaign having a max number of players from each alliance that could join.

Since it was the beta and there were only two campaigns up, they were both at max capacity most of the time, until the Aldmeri Dominion got pushed back towards the corner of the map, and players left in droves out of frustration.

Aye your best bet is going with a faction you like and then joining a campaign where you are the underdog.

Agreed, it's not fun always steam rolling players and would like to start on the under populated, or at least not the most populated, sides. If it's too bad, incentives may be needed...small 1 pt ulti gains per 5 minutes, bonus exp, or something EVEN MORE marginal than that. We'll just have to see how it is after launch. A population poll is only partially accurate, especially for a game that isn't even out yet.

Play Daggerfall. They'll be the underdogs.

I've actually wondered why that is. I've noticed that not many people want to play that alliance and never scrolled over a real answer why yet...maybe the other races are just more appealing to the masses than what Daggerfall has to offer?

Lot's of reviwers said that Aldmeri newb area is much better than DG and EP! Because it's just one big island, instead of 2 smaller islands!
