New ShoddyCast review released

Post » Thu Feb 20, 2014 11:20 am

So Shoddy cast just posted another critique of ESO http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Iy6Kq0V4SBE&feature=c4-overview&list=UU7mFkx1Um4KJZKkUHsSV1uA .

I say Critique and not review because they provide some constructive criticism of the game, it will seem negative if you look at it as purely a review. What do you all think?

Mentioned in other thread about this "review"

Quote

"I followed them before that vid, after looking that I just unsubbed on their channel. Could just not agree to things that they had in mind about things.. They had a nice channel and all but this vid was just in my opinion turn off."

I watched all of their lore/history vids. I agree with you after that, couldn't even watch all the way through.

I've never liked ShoddyCast Harry, not for sensible reasons either.. Just their really annoying voices.

Their lore series is awful in my opinion. And what on earth was the point of starting a weekly show for something wasn't even going to be out for another year?

Maybe a bit of Josh running in a random direction crying "where is my radiant content!?"

I think Shoddycast makes great points in most of their videos, but I did disagree with them on some issues they brought up.

But overall I think they are a very good source of information about ESO.

To me it seems, like almost all the other major reviewers, the expectation of the next TES game as an MMO is just not reasonable, and ShoddyCast's main gripe it seems is that it is not TES multiplayer. To me I have always expected this game to be a unique mmo set in a TES universe.

The Shoddycast brothers are okay. It's nice to hear other opinions on the game and a bit of discussion.

They, of all people following ESO, should not be expecting TES 6 or Skyrim Online.

I agree with Josh about the exploring thing. In fact, I agree with just about everything in the video. The most entertaining video they have made in my opinion. I got really involved and couldn't turn away for one second. The only thing I disagreed with was that Josh doesn't like exploring by levelling. I love the idea of levelling up to explore certain areas. That is my favourite thing about Morrowind. It's like Morrowind's exploration system, but with better combat! Instead of the damn hit and miss fighting, we'll have proper fighting!

This video has rose my hopes for Elder Scrolls Online. It not feeling like an Elder Scrolls game is fine by me as long as I do get to gradually explore my favourite Tamrielic provinces.

They never said they do expect that. Just that they want it to feel like The Elder Scrolls.

Infact in skyrim you can't go anywhere you want without being whipped the floor with by mobs after leaving Helgen...So in a way it is zone to zone too
