Oblivion to Skyrim, WTF

Post » Thu Feb 20, 2014 5:36 pm

While replaying Oblivion again since Skyrim has bored me to tears, I have noticed some things cut that I don't understand now why they were cut. Oblivion feels far more superior of an RPG than Skyrim and it sorta ticks me off when I notice these cool things cut.

Food:

In Skyrim food is merely used for cooking. We're talking leaks, cabbage, apples, etc. In Oblivion they also had alchemical properties to them as well to use them for alchemy. This actually makes a lot of sense.

Underwater:

In Skyrim water is merely to swim because you don't want to go the long way around. In Oblivion you can cast magic at least while swimming, and you can also fight underwater too, punching or slice the slaughterifsh trying to attack you.

Magic:

Just all the beautiful beautiful spells.

There is more I just cannot remember them all right now.

Let's not forget spellmaking!

And the idea that armor degrades when it is damaged in combat. (unlike Skyrim indestructible armor)

Skyrim does many things well. Skyrim is a great game, in my opinion.

But Oblivion is also great in it's own way.
