Chat bubbles, How do you feel about them?

Post » Thu Feb 20, 2014 2:58 pm

I personally think MMO's feel cheap without the option, it makes it more difficult to see who is talking (especially since name are auto hidden).

If ESO were to add chat bubbles, would you be fine if their was an option to hide them like the name plates?

Also chat bubbles make it easier for you to talk to the person next to you while zone chat is going crazy, but Darmonic just leave Zone chat.... No I am looking at zone chat for things perhaps, but if my friend wants to say something I can easily read the words above his character without having to scroll up and down the chat, which is actually pretty annoying since you have to open a menu to get a free mouse in the first place...

Also Roleplay is better with chat bubbles.

I love them. They should be an option in the settings.

I feel like having the option to turn them on and off and configure them would be invaluable. A lot of people I used to raid with would get tunnel-vision and wouldn't have noticed anything in chat if chat bubbles didn't come up large and towards the middle of the screen. Granted, it might be more difficult to manage it with first-person, but maybe even a toggle for an indicator (like a speech bubble with an ellipsis or exclamation mark) would be useful. It's a minor thing that can be important for situational awareness.

Voted yes, but would like an option to turn them on and off. Personally, I would never use them but I understand others will.

Also staring at a corner in the screen really makes you feel out of the world, and I though ESO was about feeling immersed into Tamriel... I don't see how they missed something so small.....

I hate them. They clog my screen with unneccesary clutter. I hate when theyre on by default because i find out at the last minute when i dont want something blocking my view.

Well I mean I had option to block on duels, and people still didn't want duels in the game... like I don't see the negative to either if you are allowed to remove them for your experience.

I am just glad the majority really wants this... honestly a game that is a classic RPG, without chat bubbles it just makes roleplaying bland, since you constantly have to look at the corner of your screen which pulls you out of your character.

Why not, as long as I have the option to turn off all the hobbit-humpers and elf-wallopers who stand around in town telling everyone their character's ever so creative (not) life story.

I don't use them myself, but I can't say no to having the option for those that would like to.

Personally I hate them but I voted yes as long as there is the option to turn them off.

If they could be configured to a much greater degree then I might be interested. For instance, if you could configure them so you only see chat bubbles from your group/guild/friends list, then I would be much more inclined to turn them on and use them.

I just have bad experiences of going into a major city and my screen being overrun with these inane comments from people I have no desire to interact with.

Well I mean in wow you can disable and enable bubbles for guild party and say.... honestly this is just something I think shouldn't be passed by, I mean if you look at games with no chat bubbles I think neverwinter and SWTOR
