Hey guys. I recived my beta key and i played for few hours and its needlessly to say that the game is amazing. I like everything about it.As soon the game downloaded i started playing and when i saw that there is only 4 classes i was a bit skeptical but as soon as i started playing i realised that certain class you choose doesnt mean anything. You can be sorcerer with two handed weapon or Dragon knight with healing staff. But only thing i dont like that there isnt special tree dedicated only to one handed weapon. Sure you can use shield and sword or 2-H sword but there isnt real option for using only one sword. So my question is can you play with one handed sword investing in sword and shield skill tree and use that veary skills without having shields equiped?

Hmmmm are katanas a one handed sword?

I would say one hand and a half at least.

Get an Akaviri two handed curved blade and you are set.

Most arguments are already there.

The one point that has yet to be cleared up is whether or not the active non-shield skills can be used when only having a one handed weapon and no shield equipped.

Using one handed sword will skills up the sword and board skill line and from what i heard, you don't need a shield to use the skills. However, you will be gimping yourself for not using a shield at all but if thats how you want to play, go for it.

Also, traditionally, Samurai use 2 handed sword. Katana are meant to be wielded using 2 hands.

Samurai preferred weapon was a bow, not a sword, but meh, that's just nitpicking
