How many of you grow plants around your home?

FOOD STUFFS, HERBS, Pretty things or whatever....

I love to grow my own food, and it beats the prices at stores - aside from knowing what they were grown with.

I also love to grow stuff that cost a lot of money if it was done any other way, aside from having rare veggies that are not from around here....

Multicoloured and strange peppers, some for stuffing with cheese and others that are just plain radically hot

My own spices - such as extraordinarily fragrant and tastey BASIL.....

And odd plants that no one else around here has

Sometimes I grow things in my garden just because I have never seen one of those before

~ It's a lot of fun

I have tomatoes growing on the front porch in a pot. I also have a venus flytrap inside the house. Otherwise I have Bahiagrass in my yard.

I live in a flat so I don't know what my neighbors would say if I suddenly started planting things outside. That being said I do envy those of you who are able to grow your own plants and herbs; food is something that I'm very enthusiastic about, and I'd love to be able to do the same thing. There's just something special about doing things from scratch.

I could always grow something in a pot, I guess.

nope. I don't like small intermediate tasks, when i do something i want to focus on one action for several hours at a time. I don't like doing a bunch of 5 minute activities. so keeping plants alive is just not something i can do.

My mother still has a plant from 16 years ago. It has "died" many times, each time it died she poured more water onto it and it came back. Its an indoor plant btw.

She also likes to do the whole planting thing around outside. Breaks up the grass and scenery. It's easy to keep plants around here (in the summer atleast) because we get the lots of rain and too much sun.

Well, I grow parsley in my house, it's pretty cool. And that's pretty much it. Growing stuff is neat.

That sounded really dumb now that I look at it.
