Vampire or werewolf? What will you choose

Post » Fri Feb 21, 2014 4:20 pm

I personally will probably choose the vampire because Its more like a caster. and the werewolf is more melee

But I'm still torn on what I would choose at this point.

Has the Dawnguard formed back then, or any similar group?

They're both disease ridden vermin with questionable connections to unsavoury Daedric Princes soooooo... neither :P At first.

Probably eventually have a smelly Nord werewolf and maybe a snooty Altmer vampire with unsatisfactory oral hygiene.

Being that Vampires were created by (first ones) Molag Bal, I would be wary of someone playing one, since the game is kinda themed towards ridding Nirn of him. Werewoofs.... c'mon, who wants to smell like a wet dog?

Gameplay wise I think Vampire would be more popular than Werewolf simply because Vampire passives don't need Vampire actives to work, while Werewolf passives do.

Also Vampires seem to be slightly more popular than Werewolves are in general.

I plan to have one werewolf and also one player that specializes in killing supernaturals. Vampires aren't really my think so I doubt I'll be making one unless the abilities just end up gelling really well with one of my builds.

If I was playing a human (nord or breton), I might go as a vampire, but I just can't picture a mer vampire, doesn't fit well to me... So, my altmer won't be any of them. Sad that I'll be missing some very nice abilities from the vampire, but I guess not being destroyed by silver bolts is an advantage in itself.

Vampire hands down over the wolf, the wolves i can see been super fun in AvA as a group of werewolves could leap up onto the walls and wreck havoc/ buff each other....however overall the vampire with a nightblade build is just too good, insane burst + insane defensive cooldowns = op as hell, and the chances that most players will spec fighters guild abilities purely to fight vampires is rly unlikely................as to the molag bal thing and vampires, not all vampires are in league with him, hes just the father of them all, u can literally be a vampire and oppose him unless u agree to serve him.

None of the characters I've created so far would want to become either. Perhaps I should make one that would...

My problem is that the vampire's skills all seem useful the majority of the time.

Whereas the werewolf's skills seem mostly useful "when" you are transformed, which is an ultimate it seems and probably on a decent cooldown and doesn't last that long (like in Skyrim).

IMO werewolves should be able to stay transformed for the entire duration of the night or such, it should NOT be treated like a bloody "buff" that lasts a minute or two tops unless you constantly "feed."

Both. Why is that not a poll option?

I will have at least 3 characters. At least one vampire and one werewolf. Maybe an anti-supernatural as the 3rd. Or not. In Skyrim I had 2 werewolf characters and one vampire. Why not?

Seeing how my first character goes / more info .. I choose Lychans ;) you may smell like wet dog at some point but least you dont get all old bloody vein face ;) TES:V I played w/ Lychan, but later levels wasn't powerful enough to bother. Plus straying away from classic "regeneration" and low timer .. loses it funability.

I will definitely try playing a Vampire since I want that great drain ability and ultimate. However, if it turns out that the 50% fire damage weakness and vulnerability to the OP Fighters Guild skills is too much to overcome, I will play neither.

Here's to hoping that it is still possible to beat a player using Fighters Guild skills if you are a Vamp, otherwise I don't see anyone using it.

Well such a player will have to have preemptively set up their Fighters Guild powers into their cast bar, knowing they will be a little gimped when not fighting vamps/wolves. So unless the rival group is expecting predominately vampires and/or werewolves there should be plenty of times where you won't have worry about that. The hunters will be more of a specialty group.

Probably a hunter. But I'm lousy at pvp, so more likely I'll be food.
