How many Skill points gained per leveling up?

Post » Sat Feb 22, 2014 7:37 am

Is it 1 skill point for each level you gain? or is there more?

I am just trying to somewhat plan what to do using that skill calculator... if there will be enough to put points into crafting and class specific and weapon skills...

You get one per lvl. You also get one per 3 Skyshards found. You also get skill points from completing certain quests.

you get 1 point per level up, but you also get points from other sources. I think it is roughly 200-300 points total (you won't get most of them till you are max level and doing end game things).

Generally the final quest in a story arc or a dungeon quest will give you a skillpoint.

My advice - in your planning, take account of the fact that early on in the game you won't have access to many 'extra' skill points from skyshards or quests as they won't be available until later in the game/higher level - so be careful at the start and make sure you spend your points wisely for early game survivability. I found some of the bosses for quests marked as level 8 (and some of them have to be done solo) provided a massive difficulty spike and I had to come back to them a couple of levels later, so early on make sure that every skill point counts. Branch out when you start getting extra points from exploration and questing later on.

so about 300 seems to be what you hear most from people so i guess its a good of a place as any to start planning. you could plan for 250 in case its not exactly 300. i personally will plan my characters using 200 skill points as i always like to go lower and consider the rest a bonus

I've heard to expect ~90-100 for reaching level 50, reaching 300 supposedly is an achievement in itself. Plan for ~100 and decide what can afford to wait til you start the skill point grind.

I'm not much of a PvPer but I had fun sneaking around Cyrodiil, trying out the scouting missions. There'll be some deaths but even a pacifist should be able to enjoy sniffing those out ;) (Mind you, in Cyrodiil in particular I would not feel guilty about using a map to find em :P )

From what I understand. There are 45 skyshards in Cyrodill, that's 15 points. An Additonal 45 skyshards for each faction, 9 per zone give or take. That's 45 points from skyshards(15 points each faction), plus 50 for leveling to 50. So 15(cyrodill)+15(ebonheart)+15(daggerfall)+15(dominion)+50(level)=95. That's 95 points not counting quest points from any of the three factions or cyrodill.

49 from leveling.

86 sky shards per faction. (28.6 skill points).

45 sky shards cyrodiil. (15 skillpoints).

So 92 skill points for a freshly dinged level 50 without quests. Assuming you have collected every sky shard.

so while in other factions.. are you flagged for PVP or can you roam free to do quests and find the other skyshards? would be nice to not worry about getting attacked but then again... it could be kinda exciting.. but still with so many folks roaming around.. may be a PITA...

so only 92 total? or is there more like the others said.. 200?? 300????

92 for just hitting 50.

After 50 you get to start the 50+ progression whereby you can start progressing through another factions lands. This is only inhabited by your faction (as with 1-50) so you will never run into enemy players. The mobs in 50+ will start gaining veteran ranks and be more challenging in general. You will be able to acquire the sky shards in this area (so another 28.6 skill points +quests). You also start gaining Veteran ranks post 50 so leveling progression still continues (though at an insanely slower speed outside of veteran dungeons and associated quests).

After 50+ you get to travel to the last faction area (50++), same deal as above with mobs scaled even further in veteran ranks thus more challenge.

So after completing 50++ you will have

49 skill points from levels.

258 Sky shards (86 skill points).

45 Sky shards from Cyrodiil (15 skill points).

For a total of 150 Skill points, WITHOUT accounting for any skillpoints relating to quests or other activities.

Not sure if veteran ranks you receive grant skill points or attributes - I have heard conflicting sources on this with some saying yes and some no - however your soft caps do rise with veteran ranks.

There is a story behind it... once you reach level 50 and move on to quest in the other faction territories you will only see players from your own faction. So there is no pvp outside of Cyrodiil.

From what I remember you get that from a quest related to the dungeons, not sure how those quests worked in relation with 50+ and 50++ content so lumped them in with other quests.
