Ways to play the game.

Hey guys what do you think about ways to play the game?(playing with friends or playing completly alone).

What are the advantages of bouth. Do you get bonus xp from playing alone or bonus loot or not, or is it even possible to defeat certain bosses alone at all?

Alone.

Questing tends to become annoying when people rush you or are slow as hell. PVP tends to become annoying when you fail and get yelled at OR your partners fail so hard it makes you facepalm but you're too mature to make a big deal out of it in their faces.

I Think Ill play solo without any mods, since I dont need help playing this. But it seems many players has ALOT of functional handicaps and need a tonnage of mods to play this game.

Mixture of both, when my guild friends are online ill play with them and do PvP or dungeons etc.
Sometimes ill play alone, just depends who's online.

I have a freind, we have played together for years, and I would have never had the fun solo I had with my friend, but not everyone is the same, I play a social game to be social and group, chat with like minded folks and some folks like the solo, it is a personal choice no right or wrong here do what you like :)

I'm going to do quests and roleplay with other people. The game is a multiplayer game. I found playing alone a much worse experience than singleplayer TES games.

I am thinking about having one character for solo and one for playing with friends.

I solo my way to the end, unless called upon to group for any reason (someone passing by wants help/I find someone I want to play with/there's loot in them thar dungeon/etc).

For PvE I prefer to play alone, except for dungeons of course. PvP obviously is a social affair, insofar as mutual violence is social.

I am going to play solo. If I come across an enemy and there are a couple of other people there, then I might ask to join them for the fight only and then continue to go my seperate way. There is no "one" way to play. The only way to play is the way you see your character going. Maybe later I will join up with a guild, maybe not. I expect to spent countless hours just exploring and having fun. See what the alchemy and enchanting is about. At this point I do not really care about being with a mob of people to gain control of a city that might take me a zillion hours to decide that is the direction that my character is going to go. Hope that all made sense.

Pretty much this. I'll help others out by very short-term grouping if need be, but by and large I just do my own thing. I'll team up with RL family and friends, but I never bother with PUGs any more.

I think it will be a mixture for me. I know most folks will be trying to be the first to...... jump off a fortress wall, while stabbing a sorcerer, and all that jazz, but I really feel this game is one to enjoy, savor.

I feel that some people get disappointed in games because they don't actually play them as intended, you know? I can play a guitar with a wooden spoon and it will make some incredible noises, but it's not really suppose to be played that way :P

I may just feel a bit of a kindred spirit with this game because it seems to be tailored for me. I tend to want to do something and not be held dependent on others to get somewhere. I can level lockpicking for example, while exploring. I can make gear that will be good gear, and not have to deal with the frustration of finding a group with a tank, healer, and 2 dps, the entire game! I understand, and will gladly do dungeons, but I want to do it on my own time not be forced to do them in order to get to the next section. I don't want to have to deal with someone yelling at me or an entitled healer who won't heal anyone but the tank, because they played the whole beta and can't understand why on day 3 everyone doesn't know the layout of the dungeon or all the boss mechanics =/

I tend to solo play unless a friend is online then we'll group up and co-op. I like the idea of 4-man dungeons. Pvp looks like it will be fun - I used to play WAR and liked scenarios and PvP pools until T4 - where PvP became guild-style Diplomacy.

Although I haven't played it in a while, I really liked how Rift had public grouping for events (invasions and rifts) - you just pop in with someone's group temporarily, finish whatever you have to do and then disband. I hope events like these can be worked into ESO (like Dark Anchors but for more than 4 people).

I would love to play with my MMO buddy but he is a negative Nancy who enjoys rushing towards endgame without enjoying the story. This would be fine with games like WoW and Wildstar but not my ESO. I want to enjoy it.

Its always nice to be grouped with friends to chat & share info/ drops, even if you are on going solo on different quests.

While grouped, it can make the questing more fun as you use strategize with your friend to defeat mobs (although they are easier in most cases). This sometimes has an added effect of excitement to beat them when one of you accidentally screws up & aggro's too many.

Tbh...no matter what you are doing, you should always try to group with a friend.....it can add a new dynamic to the fun.

The advantages of playing alone is the freedom of exploration without feeling rushed and you would probably level up your skills faster. The very begining of the game is all about getting the feel for it. You don't really need to be in a group until level 12 for completing a dungeon. I suppose that some quest would give you a better bonus for being in a group (i.e the rings of mara quest if you have imperial, if you both have that edition and you complete that quest together the bonus would stack.) It would take less time to complete a quest in a group, as some of the bosses take a long time to kill and eventually your weapons/ armour will break. With that being said, you can always solo till you need help. There was a few quest that I had to level up to beat even though it was suppose to match my level and I did a few quest that was for higher levels and went back to it later on. The dungeons save your progress as your defeating enemies, you could probably solo it if you had a high enough level and you took the enemies on one by one. It would take forever and there would be more loot than you could carry though.

I like to do quests solo and hate I feel rushed, but I do talk in the guild / party channel with people, but they are not on screen with me helping with quests. They are doing their "own thing" also.
