SSHD?

Hey, my computer performance is bottle-necking on my hard drive. I know I could upgrade to SSD, but I was wondering if it is needed for ESO. I ran ESO on ultra settings fine, but I had extremely long load times and lag in PvP. Was wondering if the SSD improved that, or not. Internet downloads at about 600-700kb per sec and ping is anywhere from 50-150(max), so I don't think that is the problem.

Also, if it does improve ESO performance, anyone know any cheaper alternatives?

PS - I only know enough about computers to get me by. Not even close to a wiz.

From my experience with other MMOs, SSD will increase loading speed, like when loading another zone, but it won't help with lag or graphics at all.

SSDs run at a faster rate than the usual hard drive in your pc, increasing the speed at which your computer can access the information kept on the hard drive,
So in terms of improvement if eso and your operating system are installed on an SSD your pc should initially boot up at a much faster pace and run systems a lot smoother, and eso will inherently do the same, as the information from the game file will be accessible at a much faster rate than from a normal hard drive.

This exactly. SSD impact on gaming is literally not worth anything.

What you want is a graphics card and RAM (8 is great, 16 is superfluous but will still see some improvement) and maybe a better CPU.

I wouldn't base a purchase decision like this on a beta test. Cyrodil has had a lot of problems from what I've gathered reading the beta forums while they were up. It would be better to wait for release to see whether these issues are cleared up by ZOS or if they persist.

Eh, for ESO I wouldn't bother. I'm running a 10k RPM HDD and load times were already very short. I can't see a SSHD helping that much. Now if your running an old, low RPM drive, just upgrade to an SSHD regardless of if it helps with ESO or not, as that's a huge bottleneck....

Have no problem with graphics.

AMD Phenom II x4 945 3.0GHz

8G RAM

AMD Radeon HD 6670

was just curious about SSD
