Good evening to you all!
Just wanted to ask a question here, as I saw a forum post recently (but cant find it atm) covering how one person felt it was impossible to create a decent combat character who was also able to be a decent crafter as well... Something to do with how many maximum skill points you can possess.
Now mind you, I have yet to get into the Beta, so I haven't played and experienced it to know for myself.. but want to find out more.
As far as character stats and progression goes...Is ESO going the old school way where you, per character, have only a set amount of " skill points" to divide up between all skills, like some of the older MMOS...
Or
Is it going to be a skill point system similar to what say.. we see in the current Elder Scrolls games.. the more you use a skill.. it levels up... then based on how many skills you level up, it then levels your character...(using Skyrim as an example for this)
If its the older way.. where you have to plan ahead..."ok.. the maximum number of skill points I can get is 100... So I better spend them this way..." for me isn't as fun, especially when it comes to newer people experimenting with where they should spend their points...how they should plan out their character.... If it is does this way... does anyone know if there are character respecs available, if they find they spent points wrongly, and cannot specialize etc?
One system that I would like to see implemented.. Is having the Combat Skill System SEPERATE from the Crafting Skills.. as seen in other MMOs... Final Fantasy XIV Realm Reborn being a nice example of this...
Then again, I do see the value in creating multiple characters... as this sort of "forces" you to divide your time and fully experience all this game has to offer, including multiple characters and races.
any information or input on this (preferably constructive heh) is more then welcome!
