What did you catch? Can you use the fish for provisioning or is it just eaten or vended?

I did a bit of fishing but only caught what seemed to be vendor trash so I didn't bother with it much.
I've heard people say they are used in some Provisioning recipes.
I did, but I was honestly unimpressed. It was pretty boring and only turned up a few recipe ingredients.
I did! I caught some used bait. Broke my line a couple of times and caught some swordfish which I sold. That's about it. I didn't fish for very long.
Thanks guys for the response. I might try fishing this beta weekend.
I used a minnow to catch another minnow. I don't know if that's possible, but it feels like shouldn't be. As a skill it didn't seem useful, and appropriate feedback (animations, sounds, etc) was missing for it to be fun. It's one of the things I'm hoping they improve for launch.
Is there further news of a beta this weekend? I have yet to see anything.
no, but i was in a pl party, we just wanted to explore which we did and also get to a point where we were able to do the lvl12 heroic dunguens
beta weekend is unknown as of yet. Wishful thinking, maybe this week. I hope
I haven't yet, but I will next beta. I love fishing, infact when they finally released a video that showed fishing, I said omg Im buying this there's fishing!
i tried the fishing because i was very excited about it!
but when i tried to use different bait it kept telling me i did not have any other bait. but i DID have different bait in my inventory. i am not sure if i was spose to be using a different lure or bobber or something, so i reported it in /bug. im not really sure why it wouldnt let me change bait.
I did in a few out of the way fishing holes while exploring one evening.
It's pretty much what it has been in every MMO that has had it, a fun little side diversion.
Look around your area when fishing, the bugs/crabs etc you can collect in the area will get you the best fish out of the fishing hole more often.
At least it seemed that way when I was fishing.
