All Skyshard Locations [Starter Islands]

I decided to put this video together to show you guys the sky shards from each factions starting locations. Each faction has 6 skyshards in their beginning islands which translates into 2 skill points.

I do believe that it's better to explore and find them on your own, however, due to recent "speculation" that the starter islands might be skippable or bypassed it would be wise for those who plan on skipping them to at least go back and collect the skyshards to give that initial boost your character needs.

For a discussion, If the starting islands were skippable, would you skip them? why or why not?

I personally will do them, as I do believe they get your character better prepared to take on the higher mobs from the main landmass.

Other than those people who simply enjoy the challenge of PvE combat that arises when a nearly naked character is immediately confronted with content three levels above them, I honestly cannot think of a reason why someone would want to skip the starter islands.

Some players may not like them but they serve a beneficial purpose. There is still a difference between kneecapping your character by skipping this content and not liking the content but rushing through it anyway. I expect many players who skip them will go back to them within a few hours anyway once they bang their head against the wall of content challenges that awaits them.

The starter areas are skippable. And you can come back later to quest, gather and collect the sky shards. And do whatever you want...

Yeah, I'm aware they are skippable. I just wanted to provide this info for those who don't want to skip them but instead rush them and get the benefits and leave.

I also provided this info to warn those who skip them that they are missing out on 6 easy skyshards (2 skill points)

Why the heck did they not add some randomness to their spawning points? They could have easily done so, so that people would have to actually look for them...

In WoW too, you can go ahead and skip the starters zones, any zone you want, walk into 60 level zones etc. That's the good thing about sandbox games.

I honestly would have preferred them to be random. Idk how hard that would be, but within 1 month, you will be able to google search all the locations of skyshards. I personally will be tempted to just look up the locations, others will stick with their roots of exploration.

Oh well :P ... If they were truly randomized, it would make discovering one that much more epic and satisfying.

I guess if you want to feel the satisfaction of finding one you can just avoid looking up locations via the internet :D

Theyr not really naked - after all they wear all this soulshred rags ;D

And i didnt tell you - but areas around new starting cities are supposedly nerfed (hard to belive cos closest area to Dawons Watch is "ghost filled batllefield", and exept that there not so many wandering creatures around)

They could have easily created a fairly complex pseudo random spawning network, random enough for making the proccess of looking them up on google not worth the hussle or even futile.

"Avoiding looking them up to get the satisfaction of exploration" is like telling the add-on haters "just don't use em to get the satisfaction of a clear (and clueless) UI". Oh that was a good one.

Yeah, same idea, it will limit people who choose to actually discover them. But it's not as crippling. tbh. People who will play this game with a single player mind concept won't mind ignoring outside sources.

But people like me, will just look it up.

If they had it randomly spawn even with 10 different locations that would make the search more challenging.

It's not anything game breaking though.

Why are they skippable? I haven't heard this before. Anyways, I will be doing them. But, of course, if I ever get to my 20th character or something, then I might decide to skip them. Thanks for the video! I will surely need it later on.

You now spawn on the main land after completing cold harbor, but the scaled the initial main land so it's a matches the lvl2-3 starter island content.

You can still return to the starter islands. (Recommended)

Eh, I can see the value for alts. For an alt it would just be irritating to do it all again, and you can just transfer decent gear from your main character through the bank to them. With decent gear the 3 level gap wouldn't be that big a deal, combat was laughably easy until at least level 10.

...

Except for gutripper that dude was one bad mutha.

1 month? You can do it already :P Tamriel Foundry and ESOHead already have this data. They have access to the data in the beta client.

Did I say 1 month, I meant negative 4 months :P

Atleast when new areas are released everyone can be immersed into the unknown.
