i'm contemplating sending my rogue character to the shivering isles, though all i'm interest in are the poison ingredients. but the amber armor thing could also be of use to me. but that last time i did the shivering isles (with a character of similar build) i never did find one amber matrix. i literally did every single amber cave/dungeon in the game, and never found one matrix, though plenty of amber. however, i did find a full set of madness armor matrixes (only one or maybe two of which came off of grummites), and infact several of each kind!

i'm not that crazy about going through all that again knowing that i'm probably not going to find the matrixes i want. how often does this happen anyway? what is the probability that you wont find any amber matrixes anywhere in the game? i really didnt like the fact that my character had to wear heavy armor when he barely even had the strength to carry it all (it was the only enchanted equipment i had).

i may just decide to wait for a while before i do the shivering isles, primarily so that if i do find an amber matrix it will be of the highest quality possible. or perhaps i could just get myself a normal set, and enchant it back in cyrodil? i'm assuming you can do that?

I'm afraid the matrices are random. I find more amber in Mania, and more madness in Dementia. Try that large mausoleum... I often find amber matrices there.

this is such a stupid game, now the whole [censored] continent is covered with those yellow blob things that are immortal and immune to everything. you know, those things that eat all your mana with a single spell, half your health, and are immune to your enchanted silver weapon and poisons? just [censored], now i cant go anywhere or do any dungeons to get more money.

i really do need to just abandon this character, of course not like that will do me anygood. why the hell is it you have to join the stupid ass university to be able to get decent enchantments and spells anyway? if it really did exist i wouldnt be a member of it, it's so blooming stupid.

Fire works very well on will o wisps. Or, just run.... which is what I used to do at early levels. As an Atronach currently however, these guys are my little buddies.
