What is the best class and build for solo and pvp?

Post » Tue Feb 25, 2014 4:45 pm

I want to know what you think is the best class and build for solo and pvp. For example is being a nightblade good for pvp and playing solo.

You can say whatever you like and your views as I respect them all.

Due to your replies i have chosen to be a dragon-knight as being a bad-ass warrior with awesome Armour and wepons as it seams to me that playing a dragon-knight will be more fun than a archer who stands back and does not get into the battle much.

That guy is owning ass on melee nightblade and templar, too.

There is no class that is da bee's knees in 1v1 unlike others. Pvp in this game is 100% skill based - if you svck your class can't carry you like in wow for example. Well unless you pick a really bad actionbar setup.

Play whatever seems fun. Don't just flock to the popular flavor of the month.

With the incredible freedom allowed by this build and skill system in conjunction with crafting I believe their are no best classes or builds only 'best players'.

I'm willing to bet that we'll see players who are really good rocking completely insane builds and doing things people running conventional builds wouldn't think possible.

Aye. It cracks me up to see the min maxers already planning what class and build to go at launch. If anything is terribly OP'ed it will be brought in line, other classes will be brought up. etc.

Something will always be better than something else, but it wont be the same in a month after launch as it is at launch. Its pointless to try. Learn your class and grow with it as it changes, become fanatical about it. Otherwise you're gonna spend more than half your time grinding a new template while the people with stones get better than you at PVP.

Eh class is in large part irrelevant. You just need to look at the class skills and find one you like. (Considering each class has three trees it shouldn't be to hard).

After that, all classes have access to the same weapon/armor abilities, so just pick whatever bonuses mesh well with your play style.

The fantasy lore is there, they're called arcane archers. Even Dragon Age: Origins had an arcane archer sub class.

I love that you can pick and choose what abilities you want to use. I'm kind of torn however because several class abilities I like but by selecting a different class I'm locked out from those. So selecting a class and race is actually kind of difficult for me.

This question crops up every time a new mmorpg gets released and the answer is... there is no such thing as the "best" class. If there was, EVERYONE would be playing it.

Traditionally, stealth classes excel at solo PvP whereas bulkier classes excel at solo PvE.

I'd go for a Nightblade ranged build for PvP if you desperately want the solo advantage as you can get a toolkit built for pretty much everything: Anti-stealth, anti-werewolf/vampire, anti-magic, anti-melee, and potentially have a S&B as your second slot in case you're up against some other ranged DPS.

I'd go for a Sorcerer Tank-ish build for solo PvE. They have great AoE skills, pets which I find help tremendously in most PvE, and good defenses as well as decent personal healing.

But honestly these are literally nothing but opinion so take them with a grain of salt. I'm fairly confident though that 1 vs 1 a Nightblade ranger can take out any other build.

Combat is all about being the first to land a blow and of course attacking things that are unaware of there sarroundings. Nightblade Vampire Sniper has a good chance of dominating this game. Using a bow with MARK TARGET + SNIPE for your opener while sneaking and spamming snipe on someone will be crazy fun and of course you also have Shadow cloak so you can dissapear and stealth again before they know where you are. This build will be really annoying in this game I guarantee it. I plan on using ( Vampire Ability, Invigorating Drain ) if I am low on resources and have people in my face forcing me out of my ranged advantage, so I can stun them for 3 seconds and steal life/ stamina / magicka from them and build ULTIMATE up. for my ULTIMATE I will use Devouring swarm for the tons of blood feasting bats that come out and heal me for all enemies hit and do good AOE damage. As far as the other 2 slots go I imagine another stamina bow ability and who knows what else atm. This build relies on heavery stamina so I would say like 100% stamina on your stats to be honest because more stamina means more SNIPE damage, which means it is a glass cannon build for the most part. Also Vampires get passives like 30% dammage mitigation when you are at low life and you sneak better as a vampire also. Bunch of good buffs.

If you will be exclusively solo, then in TESO you will want to make best use of the stealth mechanics.

Notice that your spells your arrows and your blades all will do a significantly increased damage when you attack a target from stealth.

With this information at hand, medium armor and nightblade class has the best synergies that will enhance your stealth.

I say go nightblade dest staff/dagger with med armor.

Keep monsters away from you, keep your pets near monsters

Too early to say. Wait till more players hit level 50 and the theorycrafters will have more data.
