[Suggestion]Aedra resembling gamer types ingame

Post » Thu Feb 27, 2014 2:09 am

So what about this:
Mara: love
Zenithar: trade, commerce
Stendarr: mercy
Trinimac: strength, warriors
You can select one.And each Aedra resembles a different User type with different preferences
The player can select one to make it easier for players to find other players on the same level as them.
Mara:Socialites:a focus on socializing and a drive to develop a network of friends and contacts
Zenithar:Achievers:a focus on attaining status and achieving goals quickly and/or completely
Stendarr:Explorers:a focus to discover the unknown:obfuscated achievements
Trinimac:killers/pvpera focus on winning, rank, and direct peer to peer competition, engaged by leaderboards and ranks
To what extend it influences the game I leave open for discussion.
Perhaps it is just to guide players in finding others in a most pleasing fashion,so they can enjoy the game their way
Or it could influence how the game groups up strangers on the megaserver
Or each Aedra could resemble a different ruleset

i would rather see a religeous 'guild' added fo each aedra that provides a skill-line based on that aedra's personalities and levels up by doing suitable things

e.g. if stendarr is the god of mercy (im a little vague on my lore) then levelling should be achieved by knocking a pvp opponent down to 5% health but not killing them or, for PvE, completing quests without killing (using sneaks and CC). It would give skills that incapacitate but dont kill

likewise, followers of zenithar would level up by selling items to vendors and get skills that effect vendor pricing etc

The 'guild' mechanic is well suited to adding new playstyles or support for existing playstyles and doesnt require you to make a choice that you might later regret

It's a good idea, I would rework a little the different gods/affiliations but it has potential.

It would be like having RP cult of the 8 divines.

For example Mara would be more for people who like to help others she is goddess of compassion after all, sure she also does marriages and ZOS tied it to pairing players with the rings but in real ESO sh'll be more about helping/healing than socializing. She could be for plauyers who in groups take more a role of healing/support, and just people who are happy to help others, teach them how to do stuff, go help someone finish a quest if he's stuck that kind of thing. When ESO is older those could even be people who are here to greet new players, show them around and help them start.

Maybe Dibella for socializing even if in TES she's mostly about one very hum... intimate way of socializing ;)

Zenitar is god of commerce, so probably more for crafters/merchants

And I'll think a bit more on the others
