Hi

Am doing the quest "A night to remember".

I'm a nord and level 22 but can't get past the mages in Morvunskar. Have tried every combination of weapons, magic, shout and get killed every time. I evn lowered difficulty to apprentice but still get killed.

Is this yet another one of those quests which you initiate and then find you don't have the armour and firepower to get through it.

Just take it slowly, don't let them swarm you.

Bring a follower too if you can't handle it yourself

also look into anti-magic defenses (rings, amulets, etc)

You could lower the difficulty another notch?

Summon something, take some companions, use poisons that drain magicka, stock up on health potions, and don't rush into battle.

Mages are the most difficult enemies in the game. Armor is useless against them, you need resist magic and resist element potions and enchantments. Also, frost spells slow you down so it's difficult to get the hitting range, so a ranged weapon will help.

The ultimate tactic however? Get their attention retreat behind a corner and wait for them to come to you

how is your sneak and archery? Most of those pesky mages can be killed with a well placed arrow from the shadows. Since they refuse to wear armor.
