» Sat Mar 01, 2014 8:16 am There's a lot of negativity and frustration floating around right now- understandably so since there are issues with the beta (which is why it's a test!). So let's take a moment to be positive and share something cool, amazing, or funny!
Today was my first dark anchor experience. I've seen the sites before, but always empty. This time, I was questing and I heard the thundering boom of the chains hitting the ground, so I knew an anchor point was near.
I ran over to see what happens, and saw a bunch of different Daedra spilling out of the portal. There were already 6-8 people there fighting them as they came out. The daedra come out at a nice consistently slow speed so you're always facing at least one or two enemies but not completely overrun. I think the most I saw at one time was 6.
Anyway, I jumped right in and started contributing damage, and it was the coolest experience, because everyone was trying to work together as a team. We had never met before and had no idea what each others' builds were, but anyone who could tank was doing so, there were a couple of sorcerers using healing staffs instead of doing damage (and one of them kept me up even after my damage pulled some very nasty attention!). The fight took about ten minutes. Then a booming voice came out of the portal saying something about sending a champion, and this gigantic daedra came through. We all started pouring damage on him while trying to pick off the smaller adds. Everyone was looking out for one another, jumping in to help kill something if they were getting hit from behind, etc. Then the big guy goes down, and everyone /cheers and /waves! We all looted, I got 3 green items and a few other things, and we all then went back on our merry way.
No groups, no easy way to track health, magicka, stamina, etc, just visually watching out for everyone and throwing heals and help wherever it was needed. Honestly, it was one of the best gaming experiences I've had in a long time. If this is a sign of what's to come I can't wait for this game to be released!
