It's gotten worse

Post » Sat Mar 01, 2014 6:25 am

So I played in the beta session previous to the current one and I must say my experience then was a hundred times better than it has been today. Today I noticed severe FPS drops, something I wouldn't have dreamt of during the last beta weekend.

All in all it's the same old stuff except for the part, the quests are extremely hard to complete and unclear in terms of instructions. The lack of a mini map is still just as frustrating.

This game is just mind numbingly boring to me and that is not a good sign. It's not an MMORPG, it's an Elder Scrolls game with friends. It's more of a co-op game than anything. And the fact that I've played for 15 hours and am still stuck at level 6 does not help the case with the boredom. There is just not enough quests at my level for me to complete with ease that it makes for sufficient exp. Very unhappy with the way things are with this game at this point. And whatever changed about the way the game handles graphics that is suddenly causing extreme FPS drops should really be taken care of.

What on EARTH are you dong wrong to be lvl 6 after 15 hours of play? You're talking rubbish about the lack of quests. I would think I've played between 15 and 20 hours total with last Beta and this one, and I have a lvl 16, a lvl 5 and a lvl 7 and have never run out of quests. I really think this game is beyond you.

what? it took me like 4 hours to go from 0-6.

also the last beta i could only play the game on medium settings and i still had lags but this time i can run the game on ultra with no lags at all so both of ur arguments areinvalid.

There is no lack of quests, I have never ran into this problem.

To say that my arguments are invalid is blatant and upright stupid. I am sharing my experiences from the game and had others confirm the same issues.

I have no idea what I'm doing wrong for everything to take such a long time nor how to fix that. Maybe it's the fact that I have the same exact issue in Skyrim. I always run out of quests at my own level and am forced to wander around without purpose and swear never to play it again.

I believe this is the exact same build. There shouldn't be any difference between this and your previous beta, except for more people stressing the servers.

If you don't explore a bit you *will* run out of quests.

You're supposed to explore, not train from hub to hub. Pact was the worst for this, however.

And the only thing I'm noticing is lag. Actual lag. But that has to do with my uploading nearly 8 gigs to my cloud.

Video made of our Pathfinder game last night for my friend in Sweden. ><

Sounds like you need a VERY guided experience or you do not know what to do. Try getting lost, it is hard not to find a quest wherever you go.

If there is anything I am, it most certainly is lost. I just cannot seem to find quests in the areas I frequent.

I must say, this is a peculiar complaint. I usually dont have to wander more than a minute or less when I usually spot a new quest on the compass. Especially the Skyrim comment seems weird because I'm pretty sure the zones in that game generally scaled down/up to match your level.

I bash the game myself. There are a lot of things you can call it but it's not elder scrolls with friends. Far from it.

It's a generic MMO that is hand held, but still not hand held enough for you I guess?

Just finished the whole AD area, level 7 in the end, about 6 hours or so of play, but I finished every possible quest and a treasure map. Could had ended sooner, like 5 hours maybe.

You must be very unusual person. I got too much quests, every one runs around doing same quests (very little are broken and are fixed after a while), there are usuall MMO talks around, no lags (even if I play from EU on US server - perhaps you got very slow network).

I must say game looks different from what I imagined, but when I read you I think you play some other game.

I'm up to my armpits in quests, it's almost impossible not to find something to do!

Last beta weekend I started a new character and got the "50 quests" achievement by Sunday morning.

You are actually exploring aren't you? There aren't really quest hubs in this game, you have to explore and find quests.

Regarding the fps, i also have some fps drops from 60 to 5-6 sometimes but i am certain it is from mediocre optimization for Radeon HD series, this happens often in the last year (bioshock infinite, AC4 BF, battlefield) when the games have the graphics very rich so we will have to wait even for post-release updates from ESO and even video card drivers updates for the game to run smooth for all the cards, they just don't have them all to test them all.

The lag could also be because of increase of beta invites this time around.

If you stick to following the main road from main quest to main quest then you can have this issue of not knowing what to do next.

Most of us however have some habit of avoiding the obvious and wander off because we are curious what's at some other place.

Like when you come to a crossroads, your quest icon is telling you to go right, then usually i'm thinking "screw this i want to know whats to the left"

It's all about getting yourself into trouble, not waiting for it to come to you :)

I'm sure he means just the starter island.

The AD starter island is quite large, but still only about 1/4 the size of the normal zones, of which each faction has 5 of those.
