i can bearly read anything on any thread because of this gold ring. anyone know how to get rid of it

I disabled it with Adblock.

You can change the theme so there can be a plain background by selecting "Elegant" at the bottom ("Change theme").

Unless you happen to like Warrior. I never remember how to change the color in Elegant. Is there an option to do it on the forum level, or do we need an addon?

There is a paint can on the upper right that changes the color.
