Gamestop Imperial Edition Pre-Order Giving Standard Codes

Post » Sun Mar 02, 2014 11:18 pm

I wanted to bring it to Bethesda's attention that Gamestop is giving out the wrong codes for people who have Pre-Ordered the Imperial Edition. When you enter the code on the ESO website you get a Standard Edition on your account. Now, I assume that at release when you get your Imperial Edition box it will have a new code to change you account. However, the problem is that with the 5 day early access all the content from the Imperial Edition that you paid extra for is pointless because you can't use it to create a character. If it were just fluff, that's one thing but, when it's character race, that's another. Essentially you can either not participate in the early access or get screwed out of the extra content you purchased. Can this be addressed and maybe Gamestop be given the correct codes for people who have purchased Imperial Editions?

All the code is is early access. It is not the code for whichever version you bought. The code for the version will come with the actual box.

So, obviously you didn't read my post. Here I'll make it easier for you.

What's the point of early access if you can't utilize the content that you paid extra money for?

So, obviously you aren't reading our posts.

Here, I'll quote the support on their website that you can look at.

From April 4th, customers who pre-ordered the physical Imperial Edition must enter their Imperial Pack code in the box in order to retain these items and to unlock the full Imperial Pack contents.

Kay thanks. I'll quote the other one if this doesn't clarify.

Which still does not address the flaw in the marketing. What's the point of early access if you can't use content you paid for? Quote the website all you want, obviously someone in marketing didn't think this plan through all the way. And "Kay" is not a word, it's "okay."

What flaw in marketing? your accoutn should say you have 5 days early access which mine does, and i also pre-ordered from gamestop. I do not have no imperial content in beta, nor do i really care about the imperial fluff, i just want my toy.

Edit: I should add all the imperial stuff will be given to us at 5 day EA launch. after the 4th you have to put in that code or your account will lose all the fluff, or banned until code is put in No clue on which route they may use.

No, I'm frustrated that you are not intelligent enough to understand the issue. I feel like I'm trying to explain an issue to Helen Keller when she should have no involvement.

Erm...

5 day retail early access codes are 5 days.

They get the race and the mount.

If you don't enter the box code by a certain day, they shut those off, meaning mounts unusable and characters unplayable.

That's the last status I saw for it. They clarified it a while ago I was sure of. Otherwise their best interest would have been shut them off for the digital too.

Under Purchased Games on the Account Page what does it say? It should be Elder Scrolls Online with date code redeemed (Member Since)

I have:

Beta Access (from beta invite)

Early Access (from redeeming my EA code from the French store that sent it to me 2 weeks ago. That is 5 days from 30)

I pre-ordered the Physical Imperial Edition box which is why I got that code for early access as otherwise we could not use EA.

The box will ship a day before 04/04/14 and then I will need to redeem that code to keep the stuff I get for EA (see below)

So, if it says Standard Edition and nothing about either it is wrong or they just used another way of registering Early Access. I did not pre-purchase through the bethesda store for digital edition so not sure what they have written. Would be useful to know for Standard and IE.

On to what you should get for pre-order the IE;

Thank you Luna but, if you didn't order it from the ESO store, then they wouldn't know if you are an "Imperial Edition Customer" or not. That's what concerns me and I was hoping someone at ESO would address. Gamestop says their computer is only giving one set of codes and they have not been told of any difference between Imperial and Standard.

I appreciate your response though Luna. Question, when you look at your Account page does it show the red box art in the image or the brown?

The support post was pretty clear and called it Early Access code from IE so I'm not worrying. They know it's Imperial I assume from the code they send me.

The box is more brown than red and the physical DVD with code is reedy-brown. I think the image is more place holder. Just fire off a support ticket and have peace of mind ;)
