Pre ordering ESO AUNA

Post » Sun Mar 02, 2014 6:56 pm

Hi there,

I wanted to buy my friend ESO who lives in AUS however when I went to pay for it on his account it is $119 AUD... for the imperial edition. However when I try and buy in on my account its 79 99 for the imperial edition, now I know for a fact the exchange rate is around 90c per 1 US dollar from AUD so I am wondering... why is it so damned expensive to pay for the game using AUD...?

I live in the US and he lives in Australia... is it possible for him to make an account, say he lives in the US, use my billing address and only pay 79 99US (90 AUD) for the game instead of 119AUD then use that account as his?

Any feedback would be great,

Thanks

It has always been this way for us Aussies. Itunes downloads cost more, any game you purchase always costs more. As to why, well that's a fantastic question. The national government did some sort of enquiry along these lines a while ago and the answer was... nobody knows.

I have heard an answer given by a company.... it may have been Apple but I can't remember for sure... the charges are higher because they provide support within Australia. I assume this means some sort of tech support line or something. Unsure if this is actually the case since I don't own any Apple products myself.

TL;DR Go figure!
