Can another Race please gain "Carnage" aswell?

Post » Sun Mar 02, 2014 8:51 pm

Can we please exchange the racial bonuses from at least one other race with the Khajiit's Carnage?

In my eyes it is not really good to restrict such important min-max points to certain races. It is Fine to give races certain traits like regeneration, but Balancing needs to be done here if we have Damage Increasing Traits. Otherwise it will end in people "only" playing High Elf Sorcerer- or "only" Khajiit Melee focused builds. I personally do like Khajiits and I do like High Elves but I really do not want to be restricted to both of these races when it comes to min-maxing.

Can we make that happen? We can devs, please consider it and give it a try!

I just think it should be nerfed, even a 5% crit damage racial buff is attractive, 15% is just plain overpowered.

This or made equal for at least one Race in each Campaign. For balancing reasons.

Yes I know all pre-orders can pick whatever Campaign they like. But to see mostly Khajiits and High Elves dominating the sections? Why?

Exactly, who would ever play Argonian? Least picked race so far across the board.

People LOVE the choices to pick a Race they like - but what is the point in picking a race by first and foremost looking at their racial boni??? I even caught myself doing so.

Change this, for the love of the game - please

Flawed reasoning, and game should never be balanced around numbers of each race/class. If the racials were flipped, with Carnage on Argonians, they would still likely be one of the lesser played races.

I'm not convinced on Carnage being OP and I agree Argonian's racials seem a bit lackluster, but I am completely against balancing based upon subjective reasoning.

Flawed reasoning = personal, without going into detail = subjective to the bone

Should never = personal perspective based on limited believes what 'should' and 'should not'

I am = personal = subjective

convinced = believe = subjective. So much for this.

Back to the topic, exchanging some of the hardcoe +dps increase racials and evening them out looking on other races, like mentioned, like Argonians.

How about each Race having 1 general Skill improvement bonus, like now - but then continuing with +1 dmg increasing ability (crit-chance, crit-dmg-bonus, from stealth you name it) consistantly for each Race and then the supportive bonus. This would be more balanced than it is now. Super easy and super fast to implement!

I'd like to see carnage and stealthy racials on more than just Aldmeri races. They're both extremely good racials.

In my opinion its balanced because who wants to be a cat, now if it was a Dunmer master race ability we would have a problem.

But seriously, does anyone know the max crit chance you can achieve?

Really?

I didn't go into detail, because I gave the benefit of the doubt thinking reading comprehension wouldn't be a problem.

Specifically: The flaw is Argonians least played race therefore racials are imbalanced.

My own feelings on the matter are irrelevant, the flaw exists regardless.

Show me why Carnage is overpowered, then perhaps I can make an informative decision. The problem is, you can't. This horse has been beaten enough. People point out ZOMG 15% but a number alone means nothing if we cannot compare it to anything.

Well look at the weapon bonuses between axes, swords, and maces. Swords gets screwed in every single one. I'm not really sure that passive statistical balance is this team's forte. If the game survives long enough though, they'll end up having to redo things and balance stuff out because people will min/max and trivialize the content and PvP.

Sneak attacks count as critical hits, 15% more damage on that hit is pretty noticable.

Also, morphed invisibility gives you 70% crit chance.

So there are ways to capitalize on that 15% extra crit damage, and that level of damage increase sure beats the 6% healing argonians get.

Right. I can read.

How about questions that will actually impact the anolysis?

What, if any, are the soft caps on critical hit and damage?

Is the bonus applied additively or multiplicatively?

Is the crit damage also melee only? Does that count out "spells" (i.e., class skills)?

Is the bonus large enough to compensate for lack of straight bonuses to health and stamina other races get?

How high can other races raise these stats?

Like I said, this horse has been beaten. Perhaps now that the NDA on the private closed beta has been lifted we can get some actual insight, but theory-crafting based off of nothing and asking for balance changes from it doesn't make any sense to me.
