Performance: can you hold 60 frames in pvp?

Post » Mon Mar 03, 2014 6:21 pm

I usually find that sometimes, while its smart to drop some cash on a better GPU, i also have found that certain parts of a game i'd like to run better can sometimes just not be run better due to limitations in processing power or optimization, so i wanted to ask anyone who running an i-7 rig with a best in class GPU how they are doing frame wise (be honest).

IMPORTANT!

Yes, i get 60 frames in normal areas with regular combat, when i ask if you can hold 60, i mean can you hold 60 frames even during the large scale battles and in big towns.

My frame rate is more than 60 in PvP. It still drops down on occasion, but it's just the Beta. Some of my friends experienced the same thing.

Due to optimization, you're going to run into the odd drop here and there.

I have an i7-4930k and two GTX 780ti's in SLI. Due to the 780ti SLI being impossibly unstable right now, I run with a single 780ti and have no issue other than what's to be expected. Generally, I dont leave 60FPS, and I play at 2560x1600 on an IPS panel that cant go above 60.

It drops down to 40 - 50 on random occasions. Doesn't matter if it's in giant groups of people in PvP or standing idle in PvE. I asked support about it and they said that it was the Beta.

Besides, SLI is like fire and ice with a Beta for me.

Edit: Didn't notice you asked for the rigs we use. Not sure if it is a best class GPU, I'll let you decide.

When you do drop frames though, what are you typically doing?

When I play later on, I'l let you know. I generally don't physically notice the drop, as anything above 35ish to me isn't really detectable in an MMO setting anyway. It's more the Fraps FPS indicator that tells me.
