Your Top 10 House mods!

Has anyone tried Tesenthusiast's http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=141589&id=7531? I personally love the exterior and location, and while the interior looks good in the CS, upon entry in game there is absolutely no lighting, and only two candle flames are visible in the darkness. Anyone have any idea why that would be? It has never happened to me before.

Try closing Morrowind, and re-starting. Sometimes it's a random glitch.
If that still doesn't work, then the Fog for that interior is probably set to zero. Which can cause a blackout like that for some video cards.

It definitely isn't a random glitch, so I guess I will have to figure out the CS enough to fix the fog thing. Unless someone else wants to have a look?

1. Start up CS with the mod checked and set as active.
2. World > Interior Cell > Abandoned shack
3. Change Fog > Density from 0.00 to 0.01
4. Apply > OK > Save

Note that you must clean the mod from dirty GMST's with TESTool or a similar utility afterwards if you're also running the expansions.

Hey, I just noticed that no one has mentioned Westly's beautiful http://www.gamesas.com/bgsforums/index.php?showtopic=922035&hl=.

I don't want to start a new thread about it, but I'm looking for magical, "pocket plane" homes - much as Alakazar's Lamp in fact, although I'd like to try out something new. I'll check out Korana's Magus Realm Tower, but I'd love more tips.

I've never triedhttp://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=7563 but it looks neat.

My favorite housemods are more or less those I make myself. I just make a house using the standard pieces from the CS. Nothing fancy. It never becomes big or anything, it usually takes an hour or two to make it.

But other than those house mods I make myself I really like Solstheim Castle. But I ALWAYS end up editing it heavily. I don't really like the layout or how much of the decoration is used (bear fur rugs everywhere) so I always end up editing it heavily.

I thought about making a brand new 3d model so I wouldn't be limited by the standard CS pieces, but I don't know how to make models for morrowind, only Oblivion.

HELLHOUSE-X by Shannon Workman

Ooops just noticed i already posted in this thread way back in...september 2009.

Gee what other house mods have thrilled me. Anything by the masters of elegant beauty Korana and Princess Stomper always get a stay in my game for awhile aswell as blockheads AARD VETOOCH dungeon mod which comes with a player home underneath Arrilles in Seyda Neen.

A bit surprised no one seemed to mention the Mori Manor, unless someone did by author instead of name. It is quite dated, and the dungeon crawl it comes with is a bit over the top for my tastes, but many people still use it, because it comes at a decent price for the game, and has a few okay features. Frankly I would like to see it revisited, because I think it could use some touching up after all these years, but it is a popular one to be sure.

Although it would have been nice if text sizes had been toned down, I must say that I am glad someone revived this today. Some of my house mods got corrupted when my power went out a few days ago, and so a review of them was most helpful.

The only house mod I ever use is http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=2397, though I've tweaked it a bit and added a couple of empty rooms that I can decorate as I see fit. I just love the location, right on the mage-way. Plus it's small, easy to get around in, and has decent storage and an auto-sorter.

Castle Lokken - The whole island really.

Solstheim Castle - ditto, but that castle needs more people. Holds great dance parties in the ballroom and I love the fact that the local populace visit at different timeframes.

Pearl Palace - the marble mannequins, the FOODSTUFFS, the staff, and it's underwater!

Ascadian Rose Cottage - the falling leaves alone and the apples! Plus, the kids from the Rat in the Pot love it.

Aelathar - great place for Gatanas and Pickle to call home. Nicely placed in Balmora.

The Dome Home - This is actually my #2 favorite. The staff makes the mod. Ingred Rems rocks.

The Lucky Lockup - Strategically placed with a great view of inner Balmora.

The Khuul Home - I love the small harbor town feel. Reminds me of old Bklyn Sheepshead Bay.

Cragonmoor - If I had more money than sense, I would grow a tree in the main foyer of a house too.

Christmas Sweet - I forget the name of the actual mod, but this quaint cottage near Lake Fjalding is hands down adorable.

Honorable mentions:

The Japanese House - the sound of the shoji screens was genius.

Laura Craft's Cottage - high maintenance as she is, her cottage is quaint and lovely.

Polar Bear Lodge - Like Christmas Sweet, it is a great place to live in the ice and snow.

Wolverine Tower - Love the "little castle" feel of the whole area and mod.

A Good Cottage - at least I think that is what it is called. Puts a quaint cotttage on the riverfront about a 2 minute walk from Balmora. Chest with 50 of every alchemical item in the whole vanilla game.

Seyda Neen Treehouse - That thing is so cute I want to put up a shingle with a guy named Ernie and make cookies.

Abandoned Drow Cave - A great nod to Menzoberranzan, and aside from Xarinia and those earlier Drow that attack you on sight, how come no one thought to just add some non-aggresive Drow to show up a night in numbers, and a few traders during the day?
Think of how wild it would be to see the dancing moonlight Drow straight from the pages of Greenwood's novel.
