The best thing about this game!

Post » Mon Mar 03, 2014 10:10 pm

If you could say one thing about this game that tops everything what would it be?

For me its the fact that i played for 12 hours this weekend and only made it to level 7 almost level 8. I never once felt bored.

Edit: i should add that 12 hours of game in two days for me is not the norm. Usually i can game about 2-4 hours tops on the weekend before getting competely bored. Only a handful of games can hold my attention for 12 hours, one 7 hours session and one 5 hour.

I was trying so hard to make it pvp but no go.
This is the first mmo i have ever played where i never felt a grind, not once.

Theres something really interesting about how dunmer eye's reflect when exposed to light.

I also like how depending on how high you fall into a pool water, the splash sound will be deeper.

I also enjoyed bowing in front of NPC's as they applauded after I successfully saved their town.

It's all of these little things and more things like them that make ESO the unique experience that it is.

The best part honestly is the fact that they limited us so much on this beta. Bugged quest, one zone to pve in, only a percentage of the amount of mobs and npcs, and so much more they left out and look at how much fun everyone had. Cant wait for the early access!!

When the PvP was running smooth, it was a blast having a ton of Pact members siege keeps! I liked to go pick off stragglers that thought they could get behind us. Everything was really fun!

The best thing for me is that there's no pressure while playing the game.

I just spent the last 5 hours or so just walking around Stros m'kai with a new character, never started any quests, and never got bored.

You can choose to be in the thick of battle in cyrodiil, do epic questlines, delve into dungeons, or do absolutely nothing at all :P

Part of the fact that the game isn't boring while doing something simple also makes the game seem a lot more social.

People talk in chat, brings me back to the days i just spent sitting in chat channels in diablo 2, or doing station trading in eve online and chatting in local.

i found the first fighter's guild dungeon in glenumbra (DC) and i tried to solo it, but i had to run away from three stupid scamps. ESO is not kind to soloers.

I also like that you have to go out and explore to find ur quests. No minimap gps to guide you, just a compass showing you ones that are nearby.

Hard to pick one best thing, but if I did... might have to be the crafting, and how it intersects with exploration  I finally managed to make one of the set items from the special set crafting benches this beta. Need three to be of any use, but I still really enjoyed the challenge... just need more time to research enough traits to get a set done. Can't wait for Early Access

Cyrodiil, definently Cyrodiil.

The PvP is great and so is the PvE, exploring it with a group of friends is where ESO really starts to feel like TES online for me.

I never felt like I had nothing to do. There was always that next quest to do, that next item to craft, that next corner of the map to explore, the next piece of lore to find. And best of all, I could do it all at my own pace.

In most MMOs, there are times when I'm just bored, running around doing nothing. I never had that in this one.

This game is going to soak a lot of my time up...I just know it.

YAYUS! I edited my post because your quote of mine looked better LOL :D and to not be such a downer, I'm sure the issues will be fixed! Very fun, indeed! Now the only thing I hate is having to wait for release xD

The Environment!..Simply amazing visuals. Was dropping down onto the beach from the hills and the fog was rolling in looked awesome and the splash/sprays from the waterfalls. Also hit a pretty nasty rain storm with the lightning lighting up the sky's loved it.

Like the OP I really enjoyed the slow levelling. I also really enjoyed running into situations that were just so hard I had to go away and give my build and tactics a good long stare. I've really missed that sort of challenge.

And finally scraping to L10 I found Cyrodiil amazing. For the non-PvP side I took a scouting mission and had great fun sneaking across the landscape by circuitious routes. Finding a skyshard and an advanced chest in the middle of nowhere. Getting spotted and evading the hunt. Great!

And the PvP keep defending and attacking was awesome despite my first introduction being pulled from the wall by a dragon-knight chain.

I never usually PvP but this was different and great fun. So much room for you individual tactics and play-style.

I found one of those crafting areas, I was wondering - are they like the others? I mean do you discover the set style through books etc or is there another prerequisite?

Haha I did the same, what set did you make?

I made the death's wind

Also managed to make that set staff purple!

EDIT

As for my favourite thing...it was probably joining a guild and helping all the guildies with my healing powers :P

PvE wise I freaking love the 4man dungeons
PvP wise I sat in a bush while tons of enemies passed me, then ran in and TRIED to take the resource node by myself, only to retreat and see a TON of teammates running to help! :D

I loved the character creation. The emotes were alot of fun, and the random encounters with people who liked to use them as well just made me laugh out loud, for real.
