I found myself skipping all dialogue in the beta. It might be because I didn't want to spend 1/3 of the playing time speaking to NPC's.

During the beta after the initial Coldharbour events I found myself skipping most of the dialogue, mainly because I want to save it for when I make my main character so that I can immerse myself into the game and really enjoy the story telling. Last thing I wanted to do was exhaust the content now and feel as though I was hearing the same things over and over again when I start in 4 weeks time.

I listened to some to establish that they did a good job and the dialogue was interesting, then I skipped them to enjoy at launch with my characters that will actually last ;-)

I listen, the npc's have intresting stories to me, give me hints on my quest, and if an npc travels with you will give you orders somtimes during a fight, to me all part of the game play..

During beta I skipped some saving things to be fresh and new at launch..:)

First time I entered ESO, listened to everything.

People miss the subtle ones, like when you save King Casimir and put a bandit disguise, the bandits talk around you saying some one tried to kill him, so if you ignore the part of 10k players murdering the same mobs every second, you can listen to some awesome immersion dialogue.

You should listen to all NPCs and read the text if you're doing Beta Testing. We're there to make sure the voiceover matches the text and that all NPCs that should be voiced are working as they should. I found many that were not correct and made a bug report. If more people would take the time to listen and read the text during Beta Testing, the launch will be a lot better. They need everyone's help during Beta Testing to catch these errors and omissions.

This poll has been done before, and like the poll before, you missed a very important issue.

This is a limited Beta, so people who would normally watch & listen through it all, will skip it to make the most of the timein the Beta.

If you asked, " Did you skip it because its a Beta, but fully intend to watch/listen to it all on release", then you would have gotten a better picture.

Although....in Cyrodil, I would be sorely tempted to skip out of it all, fearing the immediate gank.:P

I put "yes always" even though it's more of a "yes always, but only if it's the first time I've talked to that person." There's no way I'm going to sit through yet another event of having some old moth priest walk me around in his head--that event really needs to be skippable because I can only watch it so many times...

Eventually I reached this stage too. My first char took 4-5 hours to get to level 6 - my second took 1. While that's not only dialog (it's also knowing where to go etc.) it is saying something [heh].

I have a hearing problem, so I do not care one way or the other whether games have voice acting.

I do read all the dialogue though. Or at least I will at lauch, I was really trying not to spoil the story in beta!

Yes, I listen and read to all of it. For me it is a major part of the game.

If I wanted a single player game with generic quests, I'd go play a single player game. MMOs are about players and interaction. It is a shame that so much money and time was wasted on voice and generic quests that are a one time event. MMOs should be built for longevity and player interaction.

I have clicked through the majoriry of the dialogue simply because i do not want to spoil too much when i am actually playing the finished version of the game on PS4. I wanted to see Cyrodiil PVP, so i went straight to level 10.

I don't really listen, i read it. Mostly faster than the voice acting.

Time and money were not wasted on voice and generic quests. There are those of us that like it. Therefore, it wasn't a waste.

I am a Mostly type. But only for the lack of time allowed for the beta. When in regular retail I will read most dialog.

It must be 15 years since I first played an mmorpg and 14 years since I last bothered listening to the waffle that accompanies a quest. It's all just "yadda-yaddah blah blah" to me - just show me what I have to do and where I do it and shut the hell up Quest Giver.

I did actually smile when the apres-Beta questionnaire asked me something like 'did I care about the NPCs I was helping' and I thought nope, I didn't even bother to remember the name of the woman who swapped places with The Prophet. and I really couldn't care less. :D

Exactly, if you play same generic MMO quest for the 10000th time, every questgiving coversation is like "blah, blah, blah ... kill xyz and blah, blah".

What do I miss is ability to re-play the conversation if I happend to find an extremely rare -different- quest.

EDIT: Well... at least in ESO it is not "bring 50 pig legs" but "distrupt the ritual on 5 places" and thats welcomed change. (I dont even remember how many rituals I was asked to stop before level 15 ...maybe 20? 40?)
