First Contact. (A small story in my Sci Fi universe.)

Maybe not a story but more of a small bit of a rough draft of this story I'm doing on my spare time. As for the universe itself, I came up with an idea of a Sci FI universe a few weeks ago. (So clearly my ideas are more of a fetus than fully developed.) So far I intend to mostly set this fictional universe in mostly in Orion's Arm. (An area in the Milky Way Galaxy for those who don't know.) Where you will experience intense cloak and dagger politics between the various species of Orion's Arm. The human faction in this game is called the Terran Sovereignty, a militaristic civilization ruled by a Triumvirate. It was formed shortly after World War III when the founders convinced mankind that the old ways of government has failed, and only a military dictatorship under a strong leader (or multiple.) can unite mankind and keep order from the chaos of human nature.

While there are more to the Terran Sovereignty than that, I want to show this small scene in this story I'm working on spare time. And see your opinion on it.

679 PGW (Post Great War), 6th Assault Fleet, on way to Eridanus.

The Sovereignty is in a state of emergency. The outer colony of Eridanus has sent a Code Red message to High Com. They are under invasion by an unknown force. Contact has since been lost. the Terran Sovereignty Space Command has assumed that the colony is lost. The 6th Assault Fleet, under command of Admiral Christopher Martinez, was the closest military force to the colony, so they've been assigned to liberate the colony. Or whatever's left of it.

on the CIC of the Flagship Unity through Order, The Admiral is observing a hologram or Eridanus. Admiral Martinez is a person in an intimidating size, standing at Six Foot Three and weighing around Two Hundred and Thirty Pounds, Martinez is a man demanding respect from his subordinates. And is an al around good officer for his position. Something the TSSC values.

The Planet itself however, appears to be in an obviously complicated situation. From the Hologram, Eridanus is appeared to be orbited by 36 ships of unknown identification. Despite earlier reports of Orbital Bombardment, the ships appeared to have stopped firing. Indicating that either the planet has completely fallen or that enemy ground forces have landed and engaging the Colonial Militia. The 6th Assault Fleet, on the other hand, numbers around 26 ships, mostly frigates and destroyers.

"D.A.I, what is the general layout of Eridanus?" Said the Admiral in a clear hispanic accent. D.A.I is the name of the ship's AI. primarily responsible for the defense of the ship and handling the recon drones.

"Admiral, Eridanus is a small colony, even by outer colonies standards. It only has two major cities. The bigger one is Hobart, where most of the goods come in and out of the planet. The smaller city, Porter, is the capital of Eridanus. The rest of the population centers are small sized towns built for agriculture purposes. I suspect that the two cities may be under enemy occupation, but that is mere speculation until I receive more information." D.A.I (Defense Artificial Intelligence.) said in a cold robotic voice.

"Can you send recon drones to the planet?" asked the Admiral.

"It is possible. It seems that the opposition forces are not expecting reinforcements, all ships are focused on the planet. Do you wish to send the drones to Eridanus?" Replied the AI

"Yes." Said the Admiral "Though just some of them. I still want eyes on that damn fleet. And what about the enemy forces? Do you know who they are?" The Admiral looked into the hologram. These unknown ships do not look like human design. While human ships are generally black and bulky, these ships appeared to be blue and more smoother around the edges. As he looked into the Hologram more, the admiral realizes the worst case possibility.

"Admiral Martinez, these ships do not have traditional human design nor could I trace the origins of such design. They are clearly not of insurgents design as they have similar appearances to our ships and they had never assembled a fleet of that size."

The Admiral sighed. D.A.I more or less confirmed his fear. "Are you saying they are not humans?" He asked. Knowing the answer.

"Admiral Martinez. I believe Eridanus may be the sight of Humanity's first contact. Congratulations" Said the A.I.

Ignoring the sarcastic remark, Admiral Martinez spoke again. "Then send a message to High Com and the Triumvirate. Tell them this situation has gotten more complicated. "..........

(That's the small bit. No doubt there are things I need to work on, but this is a rough draft or a basic idea. So any opinions? Positive or negative is welcomed.)
