I come from an RP heavy background, and I'm testing the game from that perspective first, PvE second.

I have no issues with the PvE aspects of the game. I find the controls of the game a bit clunky, because I'm not used to console games, and this feels to me very much like a console game on PC.

I'll get used to the controls, no doubt.

That being said, I haven't found any way to actually turn my character. Like, rotate. Left and right. I have to run backwards, left and forward, to face a certain way.

This feels so alien, from an RP point of view, that I must ask if the developers are targeting an RP audience at all?

If not, then cool. Then I know. If they are, then I have to question why you can't even do something so simple as turn your character to face another character.

The wealth of emotes (especially /sitchair), the sheer beauty of the game, the character creation options, and so on makes this a goldmine for RP. In every other regard.

I had this problem, the I got the idea to go in first person view and VOILA! Though this could be irritating for some.

Oh! Thank you! I never tried that. At least it's possible.

Though, going in and out of first-person view, merely to rotate your character, seems a very roundabout way of doing it

I would have liked to see key bindings for rotating left and right instead. That would simply have solved it for me, and I think most other RP'ers out there.

I thought this was a strange omission also. When I tried to talk to the prophet I had to maneuver around rather than just pivot.

First person view is the best way to RP and PVE in my mind. The game is designed to work off of that just like all other other Elder Scrolls games. The over the shoulder thing is more of a meta mode for PvP in my opinion.
