Real vaults starting to appear

Real vaults are starting to appear. Here's a small news segment where you can see one of them, as well as a fine dog.

Have you heard about any other vaults?

Just another way for people to make money off of other people with more money than sense.

Idiots invest in cryogenic freezing and safety bunkers, the rest of us don't bother.

There's already a thread on this.
And yes, I have.

Well, there was this thread a few days ago...
http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1107073-theyre-making-vaults-in-california-d/page__hl__vivo

I frequent a site that features a "be prepared" thread that essentially gives tips and tricks for being prepared for WMD attacks. Large blivets, food storage, etc. are covered there.

Not related to vaults, but I do know of a few people who have also bought land in the middle of nowhere in case of America's downfall.

That can go for a lot of things. Men have built empires off of convincing people to buy something they don't need. I bet you have a dozen things in your house right now that you don't need.

But a personal fallout shelter would be so cool! Mancave (or womancave) it up a bit, and it'd be a Thneed indeed!

Do large public buildings still have fallout shelter signs?

I'm sorry but, how on Earth are they the stupid people? Are the advances in science that cost millions, if not billions, of dollars a year in research cost a waste of money? Are the scientist stupid? Your logic is extremely flawed.
How are you and me not the stupid people, the ones who don't do anything to sustain our lives? The threat of a nuclear war is very real. How's it stupid to prepare for that? Especially if you're wealthy and have nothing else to spend the money on?
But oh, any rich man or woman who doesn't give all of his money to a charity is an idiot, I'm sure.

For real?

I plan on having one myself. Who knows if it'll happen though. Custom designed of course.

Yeah, I have even contemplated what it would take to do it myself.

Some engineering and construction advice.

Facebook ftw when it comes to networking. Can hit up friends with knowledge for advice. Internet forums and libraries :D

When Im ready I have to pay the taxes/city fees and the material costs, and more than likely a little bit of labor costs. But is it really worth it. I think I'd be just doing it for [censored] n giggles.

You will need knowledge on Materials, structures, geology, mechanics and electrics mainly. Hmm trying to think about other key areas.
