I only remember the latter part of it.
This mother is in her apartment, and it's flooding everywhere. When she gets in her living room, a little girl with a hood over her head sits next to her. She thinks it's her daughter, but it's actually the ghost of a little girl that's been trying to communicate with her throughout the movie.
The flooding was her way of guiding the mother to where she died at, which was the well outside the apartment. I think when she was living, she was playing over the well, and fell in.
Skipping to the ending scene because the rest after the well scene is foggy, the mother ends up dead and haunts the apartment with the little girl. Apparently some kind of "I don't want you to be alone" kind of thing. The mother's daughter, knows she still watches over her, because her mother pays her "visit" in the elevator.
