Best Metro to live in?

Post » Tue May 04, 2010 7:53 pm

On my new RP I plan to have my character spend his life in the metros and only coming out for food and water if it can't be found in the metro but I don't know which metro to use the kind of metro I need would have to have food, water, a bed and some things to shoot at (preferably not ghouls) is there any metro that meets these specifications?

Maybe the metro Murphy uses for his ultrajet making hideout would work, but i'm not sure if it has a bed, although there are a few molerats in the tunnel.
If that does'nt work you could wipe out The Family that is a little deeper in that metro i know there are beds there, although it'll take a bit longer to get to it and there are some murelurks in the tunnel bewteen the two places but i'm not sure if they respawn.

The Fort Farragut metro station is pretty good. It has that security room with a bed and plenty of storage. Though, it doesn't really lead to anywhere.

Roy Phillips's hideout is pretty good, too, and has everything you need.

Farragut west metro station across the river from super duper mart. Has its own storage room, a relockable safe, and a bed. It connects to Tenleytown/Friendship Station. Also leads to chevy chase. Also if you can find a bed, metro central would be perfect for your RP. Being it connects to 4 other metro systems.

This is what I was going to recommend. I believe it's called Jury Metro Station, or something similar. It is very centrally located, and has plenty of space and amenities.

Although you have to put up with Ghouls. :(

You could kill em though. :D

How about the County Sewer Mainline? You could take over Gallo's digs. The bed looks comfy, you get a free TV, there's storage. You would have to clear out the inhabitants first.... but enemies don't respawn in interior cells, except in a couple of locations.

I think it's North Seneca Metro Station. May be wrong, though.

And yeah, I recommend you wipe out the zombies. Why would you want those rotting things stinking up your digs?

Yeah, you're right. I checked, its North-West Seneca Station.

All right. Good stuff. I apologise for acting like such a know-it-all by correcting, but I couldn't help it. :( Wanted to prevent the confusion.

Though, isn't the room in that station a little irradiated? I might be getting confused with somewhere else. And are the beds 'owned'?

Hell if I know, I haven't been there in a while. I only recommended it due it the fact that it was previously inhabited, and it's location.

(Location is important to a person who explicitly has given up fast travel :D )

Ah, you don't fast travel? Excellent! :foodndrink: I won't lie, I refuse to walk through the DC ruins on foot if I've previously found the location I'm traveling to, but I don't FT out in the Wastes -- I find it makes the game much more immersive and you find things you never even knew about.

Well, that's the main reason I gave up fast-travel, I was missing out on too much exploration and easter eggs.

Jury Street doesn't have ghouls, it has raiders. And mole ratties, if you go deeper. But you can make mole rat wonder meat.

The bed is close to the surface, though, and it has a workbench. And it's centrally located.

tepid sewers is another spot, it comes out at georgetown west, there's a room there with beds and storage, but if i was ognna live in a metro tunnel, it would prob be farragut station because its a pretty cool spot and pretty easy to get to.

i dont remember the place, but that underground place of that ghoul with the nuka cola stuff. He got his place pretty nicely defended by traps. Its cosy, has a storage room and... a bar! I would invite moira for some nuka :)

If you don't mind several roommates, the station where the Family hangs out is very accomidating.
I don't recall the name, I've only done that quest a couple of times.

there are those types of spots but they are usually deeper in the tunnels, not really close to an exit. tepid sewers comes out at georgetown, its hard to descripte where all the spots are but there's lots of underground housing in the game.

Well you will need the deep sleeper perk to use the bed but, this is right by a metro station but is still underground and tons of muties in the area :) check it out, first, teleport to metro central, turn around and approach the diner, turn left when you reach it, now go straight and look to the left while walking and you will see a trader in a collapsed parking garage, underground, kill the trader and their dogs, and enjoy the bed and containers!

And their are dumpsters across the street for secret items, also its easily defendable with a few mines and be careful of the trap that is set at the entrance, which may be useful.
