So Lets Get a Crafting Guild Setup

Post » Wed Mar 05, 2014 5:48 pm

The bag space issue is obviously a hot topic and it is clear that it is the crafters that want that extra space. For anyone else, it really isn't so much of an issue. So let's put the guild system to use.

Create a crafting guild for dedicated crafters. Put spares of style items, recipe books, gems you don't need yet, lower tier mats etc into the bank and then just take out what you need. If we are all crafters and we all put in the items we no longer need then as we move up the ranks, there should always be enough mats available for that time we do want to craft something for our lower level alts or whatever.

I'm a craftaholic too but honestly I think that wanting to be able to hold onto absolutely everything on one account 'just for me' is a bit much. It's a social game, let's be social and use that guild system to our advantage.

Heck, let's create 5 crafting guilds then we'll REALLY have a ton of space :-)

I'm in. I'll add as many mats (if not more) than I take out. You going to lead this thing? Just be sure to boot the leechers.

I'd say I'm in, but I'm going to be playing on the EU server and I'm fairly sure NA and EU megaservers will not share guilds. Though it would be awesome if they did

In the beta I was part of 3 guilds, two of them for crafting, but guild inventory management is a bit awkward. Items of the same type don't always properly stack, so had to take them out, combine in my inventory then put back in. Though I did manage to double one of the items that way due to lag. Yes I duped items with help of the guild bank and lag. I managed to turn 22 manganese into 44

No definitely not, I know nothing about running guilds :-) I just thought I'd throw the idea out there and hope that somebody else runs with it :-)

I guess the alliance thing would be an issue, huh?

Does anyone know if our characters can share the same bank irregardless of alliance?

I would jump on-board if so.

Ugh that's a good point - are the guilds restricted per alliance? That would be a nuisance as I plan to create a character on each alliance and split my crafting between them. If they all had to join a crafting guild that would take up 3/5... but that's not so bad. Still gives us 2 for 'proper' guilds.

Oh I heard you can... its just

*cough*

If I somehow help an alliance that I'm fighting against in anyway, I'll have to fall on my sword, Samurai style.

Hmm, will have to test next beta or wait for someone who tried. The way it's set up it should be possible to share between alliances as the only alliance specific items are the war items and I'm not sure if you can even put those in the guild bank.

I know they can share the same character bank if that's what you mean... or did you mean guild bank? Actually thinking about, the guilds you join are tied to your account with your @username, NOT your character and I seem to recall joining a guild on one of the betas and then the alts I created afterwards were automatically in it despite being in other alliances.

So yeah looks like it would be cross-alliance which would be great.

As for US/EU, I am also from EU region (UK) but I'm not sure that's even an issue... if the megaservers are not shared then we have no access to the folks on the other server for selling to / buying from anyway. If there are multiple underlying servers then I'm sure a solid crafting guild would get created on each one.

OK. Thanks for the info. :)

With that in mind, I'm in. A crafting guild sounds like a lot of fun.

Im not a craftaholic but one of my goals is to have one chariter have all the crafting maxed and that is going to take time and space:) but i would be up for that. I would be willing to lead till someone better comes along:)

In theory a great idea. Depends on the constraints that can be set up on the store and bank. You know for a certainty that there will be people who will seize the valuable stacks and sell them to vendors just because they can if it's free. Guilds are limited in size as well, not sure how limited.

But in principle I'm all for it.
