Sorcerers = unstoppable AoE grinding beast?

Post » Thu Mar 06, 2014 3:07 am

In another thread, someone posted this link and it was a real "wtf" kind of moment. Granted, things could easily change prior to release.

http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=BYhx4TeIyEY&feature=youtu.be

So let me ask, are Sorcerers unstoppable grinding machines and everyone else is left in the dust? This video seems unreal, watching him run into a pack of 15 mobs and sit at near full life the whole time while he is AoE'ing stuff down in 4 hits. And it all hinges on one Sorcerer Class ability; Critical Surge. At max rank, it increases your damage done and critical hits heal you for 65% of damage done. Wow.

I havent found anything similar at all in any trees or lines anywhere in the game. It seems game breaking to me. Thoughts or feedback? I realize Nightblade Siphoning tree has a little leeching, but its ability specific. This spell is really in a class of its own.

True but the sorcerer doesn't have as many single target hitting nukes as other classes, and the pet tree is really iffy right now

No. The sorcerers are not unstoppable. I don't understand why almost everyone makes a big deal about sorcerers in ESO?

It's good that these things are found out early... so they can be remedied.

It's interesting to note that Critical Surge, which improves weapon damage, improves the damage of Destruction staff skills.

Yes. I completely agree with you. I don't understand why everyone is complaining about sorcerers. And when you people watch the video, notice that the guy was on end game content. Of course he is powerfull on that level.

lol. All I hear from you is "please dont nerf my spec".

If you really cant look at it from the outside and say "yeah, that might be OP" when no other class in the game can do that, then your opinion is null and void.

Dragon Knight with even more impressive AoE, in my opinion.

Double post, but I couldnt go back and quote you with an edit.

Regardless of what gear he has, he is completely ignoring the basics of the game by endlessly spamming AoE and never dropping below 90% health while im a pack of 15 mobs. How is that not OP? Healers couldnt even heal for that much!

So they should nerf class because pve content... (facepalm) in pvp sorc will not wreck everything by any means so I don't really see issue there.

And as all of you can see. Players in those videos are at veteran ranks. The other is on 6th and the other one is on 10th. So, of course they are powerful. I don't understand this hysteria about classes being overpowered.

Game is a month from release, can we not call for nerfs just because we see a video of somebody trying to make their character look amazing.

Templar single target dps is FAR more impressive too, imo.

If you are going to start calling names and throwing around insults, at least quote the right post.
Where did I ever say that I wanted them nerfed? This started off as more or less a question and turned into a flame fest with posts from just a few of the known [censored]s of these forums.

hmmmm i don't think its necessarily the class that's overpowered, i think he's found a loophole in the numbers and is exploiting it haha..

did anyone else see that he never lost mana either, why's that?

Careful, maybe people want to buff enemies and make them OP too.

All classes are meant to be very powerful if your a high level, you wouldn't expect a low level to take as many mobs and a high level now do you? A High level that knows how to max his skills, etc represent true power and inspiration sometimes even jealousy.

sorry to say but that counts yours aswell - seems rather QQ then constructive...

on topic - why dont we wait for the game to release before passing judgement. Im sure there are more "synergy" skills that will lead to such very specific benefits....

I totally agree with you! I don't understand this hysteria about classes being overpowered. I think that when you are at veteran rank 10, you should be powerful, you need to be powerful.

In the video, he said he was Vet rank 6, and he was in a non-vet dungeon. He was in a questing zone, and although the mobs were even level, I am guessing their power level is much lower than his character. This looks to be the equivalence of going to a lower level area and slaughtering everything in sight.

Powerful is one thing. But to run through a dungeon in god mode is something totally different. That ability is healing him for far more than any healer could possibly do. That is what makes it broken. It goes far beyond knowing how to max your skill usage. While it is a clever combo, it wouldnt even exist or be possible without the incredible self healing from Critical Surge.

Can I ask you that what in this game is overpowered? When you are at veteran rank 10 for example, do you wanna get killed by a wolf? Isn't that one of the goals to make your character stonger that you can survive better?
