Stealth with Pets

Post » Thu Mar 06, 2014 4:46 pm

I was wondering if stealth with pets work? I'm interested in making a PVP build around pets, since I think it would be quite rare seeing how everyone complains about pets not being viable for PVP. Just want to know if when you stealth, are your pets also stealthed?

I have no idea.

I will say that any pet that was on me in PvP I promptly beat to pieces in about 5 seconds.

As I understand this is correct at least in PvP. I hope by the eighth this also apply to vanity pets.

So fun seeing an mudcrab move around in Cyrodil.

Okay, so that means they do 'stealth' as well? Sorry, am a bit confused, not sure if it was sarcasm or not.

For all pets? Do the pets not scale with the level of the player as well?

I really do not know. These were all around lvl 15. The flying one and the little clanfear one. Both went squish quick.

They are in fact not stealthed, I had some hilarious fun shooting with ballistae at lonely pets knowing, the owner was stealthed and still undetected, wondering what hell was going on.

The also appeared to be the case with magelight, you would see glowing orb flying alone and you had to run around it to detect the caster.

Yeah, I can second this. I saw a couple clannfears running around alone, ran up to find a sorc trying to be sneaky.

Awww man... that svcks.. does everyone think it's fair that they're not stealthed as well? Especially since, they already take up a skill space and a huge percentage of the magicka, and they already svck in PVP (at least from what people are saying), and now they can't stealth.

That does svck, in my beta main, I invested a lot of points in the pets and now they're practically useless.

The lightning atronach however is quite good in pvp, so you might as well invest enough to get that.

If you watch this video, the guy lost to a sorcerer with both pets out. Gives me hope of it being viable in PVP

Sure, sorcerers kick ass (to give a headsup on my virtual tallywhacker, I was 8th in my faction ranking after this last beta), I only did pvp this last weekend and I gradually just stopped using the pets.

The do virtually nothing in sieges, either defense or offense, and there's loads of better things to put your skill points on.

I leveled the pets enough to have them both morphed at one point and my character was lvl 19.

Nightblades were virtually the only ones i couldn't kill 1v1.

Had the same problem with a pet spec Necromancer in Age of Conan. No way for the pets to hide whilst you did.

Pets are not stealthed.

I am playing a mage with pets and wearing medium armour using a two handed sword. In pvp I tracked an argonian mage through following his pet, I knew where he was but didn't have an aoe ability to use so I waited for him to pop up. Once he came out of stealth I attacked, the fight was over quickly and it was very close, I lost to him because I used a potion which I thought would act as a poison on my weapon. Nope no poisons in the game, well they are in the game but the poison is applied to your character rather than the enemy.

Kind of svcks knowing you just drank a magicka draining poison that also does 60 HP damage every second for 10 seconds. I reported it as a bug and well I hope it is a bug.

I don't think it was a bug, poisons have worked the exact same way in previous TES titles.

For some reason the default function would always be drink rather than apply...

Interesting, why even have poisons ingame if they're only usable on yourself?

In Oblivion poisons slotted to the quickwheel would automatically apply to your weapon when used.

I think summons are instant cast and can be dismissed with a cast. So if you want to sneak just dismiss them and cast them once combat starts.

Not very practical if you're wanting to suprise the enemy, and the loss of magicka would hurt you...

Wouldn't it be awesome to have multiple pets out at the same time and have a little trail of pets walking in line? ^^

PVP in beta at least everyone was bolstered to level 50. HP, Magic, Stamina pools as well as ability damages. What I don't know is if this will still be the case at release. I am guessing that it will. True level 50's will have more skill points and more available skills to use, but you won't have to worry about fighting someone at level 10 and it being a true level 10 vs 50.
