I agree for the most part, Dragonscale looks good on an agility/speed/magic-focused character, while Dragonplate looks better for an endurance/strength-based character. However, I think Dragonplate would also look good on a staff-wielding, daedra-summoning sorcerer. (although Daedric would be preferable in that case)
In the Light Armor Tree, My characters that really Smith end up in Dragonscale, IMO Dragonplate is too bulky and cartoonish. I practically play only Female characters, and on a Male Dragonplate does look a little better.
It's doesn't really matter TBH. Arguably, a 1H + sword build doesn't need the added protection of heavy armor, as they have a shield to compensate the AR. While a 2H loses that shield AR protection, so heavy armor makes more sense.
At the end of the day, it's all down to what you prefer, your style & difficulty level your playing at.
I definately think Dragonscale looks better. I only make a set of Dragonplate for my manequinns.
