Uh...is this PvP centric?

Post » Thu Mar 06, 2014 7:01 pm

No, there isn't PvP only housing. Keeps are what PvPers battle for control over (i.e. a "Territories-ish" gametype). When your faction controls one, you may set up a shop for your guild to sell the items your guild members may have found/crafted. You can obviously trade with people in other ways, this just gives large guilds (must have at least 50 members, iirc) the ability to streamline their distribution of goods since there will not be an Auction House.

If you're a PvE guild, you just have to wait until your faction does the PvPing for you to make a shop.

The real question is why are you actively trying to drive players away from the game and should that be allowed by Bethesda on their forum?

If this was my home you would be already out William Bentley... the DEVs are being way too kind.

Cerberus lemme say something here in regards to the game, have you actually tried it yet? if not try and get a key for the beta being held on the 21st of march and give it a [censored] see what you think, btw the 21st march is a guess on my part, anyways while yes the game does lean heavily towards pvp there is a chance that once the game launches and they realize they should be focusing on pve a lot more it could change, also another fact or there actually is quite a bit of pve so if you take your time levelling you could actually enjoy the game from a pve standpoint so there is nothing wrong with giving the game a try :)

Don't say the game focuses on PvP when you mean to say that the limited beta content that has been released has focused on PvP...big difference.

so I should leave the forums of a game I really really want to love and enjoy just because i "cancelled my preorder" I dont think so as long as I am not on here actively trolling or bashing the game etc etc then there is no reason I shouldnt be here, cause I do Love Elder Scrolls and I do want the game to turn into Elder Scrolls Online and if I can get the devs to change the 3 problems I have with the game then I will be happy as a clown /shrug I still intend to play in the beta on the 21st and I still intend to see what changes get made or not made to the game between now and launch and since I HAVE played the game and I AM capable of giving honest feedback then yeah I am sticking around

and fine I will clarify my statement then......the experience I have had with the limited weekend betas since last september and the fact every survey i get asks me like 30 questions on pvp and 5 on pve and since the fact the goal of the game is to Alliance versus Alliance versus Alliance fight and crown 1 player emperor......and the fact the game is designed to be able to handle 200 ppl on screen at one same moment with all combat activity present an since the lead dev is Matt Firor the guy who designed every other AVAVA game out there and and and and cmon get real I am pretty sure I called it accurately

Eh...this sounds...intersting. I'm not sure what to make of it TBH.

What do you mean faction? Like...is it something independent? DO I have to enter a PvP area? Wait, there's NO AH o_O?

Is there some kind of PvE option for this, like a market in main cities or whatever or keeps and shops in places?

EDIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIT HI: To make this short I'm liking the articles (thanks btw) is there anywhere I can look for more info ont rading in this game as a whole?

Well I guess that's where we differ. I have always loved the ES games and think they are awesome. Saying that it blows or is crappy just doesn't enter my vocabulary for any of the ES games including this one.

I guess this game just isn't for you. But for the OP, he wants that PvE experience and if he's a fan of the SP games then he should have plenty to enjoy in ESO.

There's no AH, big scale player trading goes through guild shops.

Sorry, if you don't like PVP at all it's your choice and I don't see any issue with that. I said try it because of my own enthusiasm - this weekend while playing it felt like participating in one of those massive medieval battles, it was absolutely epic, many times I just stood on the castle walls and looked - it was like watching a big ass holywood mega-epic fantasy blockbuster.

Anyhow, there will definitely be another beta so give it a shot, remember it's not a SP game but still, I believe there's plenty of PvE content and I'm 100% sure more and more will be added - the beauty of a Sub game :)

How hard is it to understand that the game is 50/50?

But incapable of using punctuation...yes, I did just turn to ad hominem

I used faction loosely...I meant as in one of the three Alliances you choose to be in. Instead of X versus Y, ESO is X versus Y versus Z.

As far as I know, they just touched on the shop features and just announced raids (called Adventure Zones), so I can't give you a solid write-up of all the PvE content there will be. Most of the released stuff for higher levels in the beta was PvP (I assume for skill balancing).

There won't be an Auction House because - this is my speculation - it tends to destroy the virtual economy and promote gold farmers and such. Also, with a game like TES, people will want to be more immersed as a crafter; they will make their goods in a town and try to sell them to passersby haha.

That is because PvP is one of the end-games. It was the only end-game that was available to us during the beta (given that few reached level 20; let alone level 50). Reserve judgement until you reach end-game (AZ); and if it svcks even I'll chime in with you and try get it fixed. But right now we know nothing and lots of people are talking like they know everything.

It's like saying a book has a bad ending when you are only 20 pages into it.

Alright well honestly it looks like its really a case of not enough information. At this point I think I'll reserve judgement and cancel my own pre-order, for the moment, for at least a month or two to see how end0game PvE ends up.

It kinda svcks though XD because I'm boned if I do and boned if I don't. If it does end up being PvP centric over PvE centric...well yeah, that happens. But if it does happen to be as awesome as you guys are saying, I'll be two months behind progression T_T

Pity me and my first world problems...and my shamingly shallow pockets...

Yes you play "how you like best" BUT strangely enough the best PVE quests as well as almost ALL of the best loot are in Cyrodil and if you cannot handle PVP then you are totally screwed and the PVP gankers ruin yet another game.

ESO is NOT a true TES game: it is a PVP MMO packed onto a TES framework to fool the real TES loversand nothing else

Within a month the better PVP guilds will have the best loot and all 50 lev chars.

Within a year they will be playing the next PVP MMO and will have deserted ESO like they always do, leaving behind the dedicated PVE TES lovers who are used to being short shafted in MMOs.

Then, if there are enough of them, ESO will relax its PVP svcking and perhaps allow some safe areas in Cyrodil.

But they had better hurry as even PVE playes are not infinitely patient.

This game is yet another game aimed at dragging out parental money and set primarily for those still at school as most advlts once they hit PVP in REAL LIFE suddenly find it distasteful.

But the 12ms cable kids who can kill you before you even see them will have turned Cyrodil, despite its riches , into a no man's land: or an adolescent' gankfest

yeah I understand how it is a difficult choice if times are tight I know things in europe are bad I am a refugee myself You gotta take care of your real world first

lol euphrasyne I can tell your a TES lover too and that you basically bought into this game because of the TES name same way a lot of other people did myself included but you cant deny it this is the whole reason the TES name was chosen *wink*
