Much as I have trepidation about dueling leading to over optimization, leading to skills nerfed into uselessness if you don't over optimize, I could see taking your idea just a little bit further. The Undaunted are just the type of people who would be able to take you to their underground fight club. The only place you can duel, and out of sight out of mind for those who are not interested. So you want to duel a buddy, the two of you go find the undaunted in the bar. You want to duel some random person, you go find the undaunted in the bar and they take you to where the other "fresh meat" is waiting.
Again, terrible.
Dueling needs to be available anywhere in the PvE world (with the possible exception of in cities or in buildings) or there is no point in even having the system.
here's my apparently not so popular opinion.
Duels should be allowed everywhere in the PvE world. With the exception of some area's in major city's, and dungeons.
Duels also could be allowed in the safe zones of each faction within Cyrodiil.
I am opposed to the idea of arena's, anywhere, bad Idea. PvP should be in Cyrodiil only, and there is no reason to keep people away from the true fight and in instanced PvP area's so they can boast about their "skill" (boasting is one of the things that causes the decay of human civilisation).
That's actually a very popular opinion. I've made polls about this on this forum and the Beta forums and almost 90% of people want dueling as long as there is an auto-ignore option.
Im primarily pve focused, but the dueling idea could be an instance in the basemant of the fighters guild, maybe.
Ah yes, the ignore option, forgot about that one. A much needed function, even i get tired of random duel requests by level 10's while at level-cap.
Good to know i don't stand alone on it. Guess it's just the good ol' vocal minority again, trying to ruin the experience for everyone else.
