Glad There is no Auction House

Post » Fri Mar 07, 2014 6:43 am

Why? It seems in theory this will make crafting more valuable. If you are sorely lacking in gear you cant just go to the AH and buy it. You quest or make it yourself. Plus, every single game I have ever played that has an AH, the crafting mats or way overpriced and end up being worth more then the items you crafted.

Plus now, money is not as important too. I used to spend so much time mining so I could make enough money to buy XX on the Auction House.

Does anyone else agree that no Auction House is a good thing?

I agree with crafting becoming more valuable. And trading will become an integral part of player interaction and progression... more intimate.

Lets hug...

No wait... let's not. Sorry, i got a little excited there.

Yeah, I agree. I heard Items can lose value and an item worth 10000 could sell for just 500 making being an Item supplier really a waste of time.

AH, guild stores, meh. Buying and selling things seems like a pain in general, easy enough to just craft what you need yourself or trade with a guildy.

Pricing being broken isn't a symptom of an AH it's a symptom of backwards market incentives. Crafters are incentivized to craft to gain level rather than to earn a living. Therefore, crafters are effectively paying in mats in exchange for EXP thus the resulting item is a waste article and thus worth less than the input. Games like EvE Online have a factory system where your talents determine how much real time an item takes to craft. You start the job and hours or days later the item is ready (simulating actual work needed to create the item). MMOs like ESO model crafting as an effortless activity and thus the product has no significant value over the materials.

Not saying how to fix it or that it needs fixing, just that this isn't an AH issue.

BIG difference between guild store and auction house. for example, If I am correct there is no bargaining at guild stores, only set prices. also you cant access it everywhere(unless you are a guild member).

Give me rented market stalls as an alternative to crappy guild stores and were good.

In my opinion, there should be one big market per province(maybe per zone) where people can set up stalls for a large amount of gold.

I did'n say there is no difference between classic world ah and guild stores in eso. The idea is the same, the economy coverage is questionable.
