Difference between vanilla and f3 with all dlcs.

Post » Wed May 05, 2010 2:48 am

Hey everyone, again. This is a little different question, that i just asked.

What are the main differences between a clean fallout and fallout with dlcs? And is there any major jumps from the first patch, which adds level limit to 30?

Definition of main difference by me:
Main difference is the features, that would change the gameplay, and would affect it in the way, that you couldn't do something, or see something, or experience something, for a player, who wishes to see all, and do all. Complete all quests, explore everything.

Thanks.

The only thing you CAN'T do is see the original ending.

The gameplay is the same, DLCs will add a BUTTLOAD more weapons and about three more enemies. Your level cap will be raised to 30 instead of 20. I think that's it!

Having GOTY (All DLCs) Gives you all the story add ons. Some nifty weapons and armor. Point Lookout feels like a full fledged expansion. and you can finally wear the police hat, and they add alot of glasses compared to the traditional one.

The first patch didn't increase the level to 30, you need the Broken Steel expansion for that.

Okay, thanks for explanations. I think, that ima go for the original Fallout 3 then, after i complete it - install DLCs.

What about endings of DLCs? Each DLC has a different ending? A little bit further, but ending? Or it's no matter, if you install one DLC, complete it, then isntall another, or you will install all DLCs and play the game, you see everything anyway?

3 of the DLCs do nothing more then add linear quests (mostly).

MZ - adds an alien spaceship that you explore, a small amount of story revealed in audio tapes
Pitt - travel to the ruins of Pitt., which is done in a different style then DC, unique storyline
Op:Anchorage - takes you back in time and gives some historical background

Then there's the grand-pappy of the DLCs: Point Lookout - similar to Shivering Isles for Oblivion, adds a good sized landmass and numerous quests

And lastly, Broken Steel - which is folded into the wasteland. Raises the level cap and changes how the main quest originally ends and then extends it for a few more chapters

You'd have to start a brand new character to do that though.

You do? Are you sure? I didn't have to create a new character, all I did was activate the DLC and then load a save that was made before the climix.
